A few days later
Aubrey

I pulled up at Jasmine's condo.I grabbed the flowers from my passenger seat and walked toward her front door.

I had tried her office but her assistant told me she hadn't been in for a few days so I decided to surprise her.

I reached the door and pressed her doorbell.

I waited a few moments and some white dude answered the door shirtless.

"Who the hell are you?"I asked

He chuckled."You must be the ex boyfriend.Look buddy this isn-

"Im not your buddy bruh."I shook my head

"Alright..bruh, this isn't a good time.Jasmine doesn't want any guests right now."He said

"I'd prefer she tell me that."I said

He chuckled.

"Alright.I'll go get her."He said and closed the door in my face

"What the fuck."I mumbled

She said she didn't have boyfriend so who the fuck is this guy.

A few moments later, Jasmine came down in a white robe.I immediately noticed her eye.It was slightly bruised and red.

"What did he do to you?!?"I asked

"He didn't do anything..it was someone else.He's been taking care of me."She explained

"Are you sure?"I grabbed her hand

She nodded."Yes.Im fine."

"Is he your...new dude or something?"I asked

"A friend."She said

I nodded.

"I uh..brought you these."I said and held up the bouquet

"Thank you."She slightly smiled and took them

"You seem uh busy but Im gonna be going back to Toronto in a few days..I wanted to still see if I could take you out?"I asked her

"I really shouldn't..especially with my face looking like this..maybe next time?"She said

"Yeah I understand that."I nodded

"Thank you for coming and the flowers."She said

"Yeah of course."I nodded

She took my hand and kissed my cheek.

"I love you."I told her

"I know."She nodded

"I'll um..see you later."She said

I nodded and watched her close the door in my face.Leaving me alone once again.

Jasmine

I walked back inside and saw Chris sitting on the couch.

"Pretty flowers."He said

"Yeah."I nodded and put then in water

He walked over to me in the kitchen.

"What was that about?"He asked

"Nothing..he's just been trying to win me back suddenly.I don't know why but I don't care enough to ask and flowers isn't gonna do it."I said plainly

He looked a little confused.

I had never explained my relationship with Aubrey to him or any of them actually.
