The next day, Travis and I decided to go to home.We were supposed to stay for my birthday but after the wedding we went out with my family to celebrate it.

On the plane Travis and I discussed some things.He explained why he felt the way he did.He didn't have a great relationship with his father.He was always there but never present so he wasn't sure how to love properly.He wasn't taught how to be a man.

We discussed having kids and how it would work with him being in Kansas City and me working in LA.He had one more year in his contract with the Chiefs and for us, he would request a trade to the 49ers.For now, we're keeping the engagement on the low.We don't plan on getting married right away.Maybe a couple years in the future.

So here I was in the OB/GYN discussing my fertility with my doctor.

"So you're ready to start trying?"She asked

"No.Not necessarily.Im recently engaged and I just want to check my status."I said

"Ah congratulations.Well lets go through your file.So you were diagnosed with Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) two years ago and you have a history of excessive drinking.You've been pregnant before, yes?"She asked

I nodded."I miscarried at nine weeks."

"Im so sorry."She said

I nodded.

"So, with everything into consideration...you have about a 10-20% chance of getting pregnant the traditional way."She said

My heart dropped.

"The POI is causing early menopause and your uterus is aging quickly.Now there are definitely ways that you can conceive.This isn't the end of the road.You have options.IVF treatment is very popular.I recommend we start extracting eggs very soon though.The success rate of IVF for women your age is 40%."She said

I sighed."Um thank you.I will definitely take that into consideration."

She nodded."I know this is discouraging Jasmine but you are not alone.I will help you complete your family."

I smiled and nodded."Thank you."

I left the office and headed back to OVO.I took the appointment during my lunch break.

Once I got to my floor I saw Aubrey sitting outside my office.

"Hey what's up?"I asked him

He followed me in my office.

"Wanted to stop by.Haven't seen you in a-"He looked down at my hand

"What- you're engaged?"He asked

I nodded slightly.

"Uh yeah..happened when I went home."I said

He nodded."Congratulations..who?"

"Travis and thank you."I said

"Im happy for you."He stuffed his hands in his pockets

He's not happy for me.

"So...that's it huh?"He asked

"I don't know what you mean."I said

"You and me..I lost my chance."He said

I nodded."You're my friend."

"He was your friend too."He chuckled

I furrowed my brows at him.

"He's been rejecting you all these years and then all of the sudden he wants to marry you like.."He continued to chuckle

"Aubrey don't go there."I said
