He kissed my head and I laid my head on his shoulder.I watched as the football game went into it's second quarter.I could never make it on time to see Travis play.
"Jazzy!"I heard
I turned around and saw Mama Donna, Travis' mom.
"Hey Mama D."I hugged her tightly
"How are you honey?"She asked pulling away
"Im good.You doing okay?"I asked her
"Oh yes I'm fine.Travis..he told me about your fight."She said eyeing me
"Yeah..I came to talk to him."I said
"His girlfriend, Maddie is here."She said
"Is she..?"I rose an eyebrow
"Surprisingly no.She's white."She said
Both my eyebrows shot up.
Travis was a bit of a ladies man and his girls of choice were always black.Last time I saw him with a white girl..we were in like fifth grade.
"Do you want to meet her?"She asked
"Um..I'll let Trav introduce us."I told her
"Well..okay.Who's that?"She looked toward Aubrey
"Um..my boyfriend.Aubrey."I told her
"Boyfriend?"She looked perturbed
"Hey babe.Come here."I called Aubrey over
"This is Travis' mom, Donna.Mama D this is Aubrey."I introduced them
"Nice to meet you."He said and tried to shake her hand
She pulled him into a hug.
"You taking good care of my Jazzy?"She asked him
"Yes ma'am."He nodded
I smiled at them.
"TOUCHDOWN KELCE!"I heard
I looked up and saw Travis dancing at the line.I smiled and cheered.After the game I met Travis on the field as I always do.Aubrey was with me of course.I didn't see Mama D and this Maddie girl but I didn't think anything of it.
I watched all the players come out and saw Travis with a white girl on his arm and mama D on his other side.
