Part 48: Sunset sketches and midnight waves

"So. Grady approved?" Sophie checked with Keefe after he cam out from being questioned by Grady.

"Yep! We have the Gradinator's tick of approval!" He said, pumping his fist in the air.

"We should celebrate."

"Maggie tonight?" Keefe asked.

"Definitely," Sophie agreed

That night came and Sophie decided to go to Tobin's before going to The Island to surprise Keefe with their favourite fish and chips. When she finally got to Magnetic Island she walked to Alma Bay where she knew Keefe would be waiting. She saw that he was drawing something and decided not to interrupt and just watched, wondering what he was drawing. When he put it down she sat down next to him.

"Watcha drawing?" She asked, giving him a fright.

"Just the sunset. It's beautiful isn't it?" Keefe said, "especially with you here."

"Especially with us here, "Sophie corrected. "Anywayyyyy I brought fish and chips! We should eat them before they go cold! Actually it's probably too late for that. We should eat them before they go any colder."

They sat and ate their fish and chips and talked until midnight. 

"Wanna go for a swim?" Keefe asked pointing at the ocean, "it's nice and warm."

"Oh why not it's not like we have anything else to do. Race you!" Sophie stood up and ran to the water, reaching it just before Keefe caught up with her.

"Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" Keefe whined.

"You snooze you lose," Sophie teased, splashing him in the face.

"Oh you are ON!" Keefe yelled, splashing her back, officially starting a splash war. When they finally got tired Sophie floated on her back just watching the stars.

"I always forget how beautiful it is here at night." Sophie said.

The next morning she woke up on the grass just above Alma Bay. It was still dark but she could just see the sun coming up over the water and wished she had brought her camera. She saw that Keefe was drawing again so she decided not to say anything, just watching the sunrise and remembering the fun they'd had the night before

Oh dogs I really wanted to write but this is so bad. 😭Well I posted? Two more chapters and you never have to read my writing again! If you've made it this far then I think you deserve a prize. I don't have one but *pats you on the back "Well done reader you made it to chapter 48 of Loosindar's crappy writing!"* (but seriously I think this story gets worse with every chapter it's time for it to be finished)
