Over the next few everything was going back to normal. Grady and Edaline had gone home, the holidays from Foxfire had finished and all their friends were going to class and doing homework so much that they were hanging out less but they still managed to meet up at least once a week. Sophie and Keefe were still hanging out every day but not so much and more to do homework with each other.

"Ughhhhhh I'm so sick of this!" Keefe complained, "I can't wait until we graduaaaaaate!"

"We haven't even finished year 10 Keefe! You can't be thinking about graduating yet!" Sophie told him.

"You forget I'm a year ahead of you! I have finished year 10!"

"You still have another year," Sophie rolled her eyes.

"Then I'll drop out."

"Then you'd have to go home to live with your dad," Sophie reminded Keefe.

"I forgot about that..." Keefe gave up trying to convince Sophie he didn't need to stay at Foxfire. "Fiiiiiiine, I'll stay. But only because the other option is to go home to Daddio."

Keefe spent the next hour whining while Sophie blasted music through her ear buds to block him out. Finally she decided to give him what he wanted and take him on a walk. The best way to handle a whining Keefe is treat him like a dog and throw balls for him, feed him, or walk him. She decided to drive him to Little Crystal Creek and have a swim since it was really hot today.

"Get your swimmers," she told Keefe, not explaining why. They spent the next three hours swimming, play fighting, splashing each other, sliding down the rocks into the water, swinging off  the rope swing and exploring the creek.

"I've lived here for nearly 5 years and never discovered this place," Keefe said when they got out to sun bake on the rocks. "How did you find it?"

"Dex recommended it to me. He and his family used to come here all the time before they moved to Sydney."

"Remind me to yell at him for not telling me this place exists next time I see him," he teased.

Sophie and Keefe lied there until the sun started going down and they decided to go home.

Only 365 words 😭This was the second last chapter! I feel like I'm stretching this past it's natural ending point but I've wrecked it this much I may as well make the clean 50. If you've read this far you absolutely deserve an award but unfortunately I don't have one so take this Schrute Buck instead
