We've been here in Ilocos Norte for a week already. But every time my husband's cheeks flashed inside my mind because of what I did five days ago, kinikilabutan parin ako.
It was just a word but I haven't said it in ages so it really bothered me a lot to the point that I couldn't sleep at night.
Hindi pa nakakatulong na palaging pinapaalala ni Wren 'yon sa akin dahil hindi siya makamove-on.
He was constantly reminding me of it and insisting that I should really start calling him that word.
Jeez, I couldn't even say it inside my mind because I was afraid that he'd hear it.
"Love--"
"Oh god, shut up." I buried my face into a pillow to block the word from entering my ears but it still went through—making my skin shiver.
"May pupuntahan daw tayo." He ignored my temper, and then he sat on the bed so I lifted my head out of the pillow to look at him.
"Where?" I asked.
"Sa farm daw," he simply answered—brushing off a strand of hair out of my face.
I nodded and then I sat up on the bed. "Wait for me downstairs."
He nodded as well and kissed the top of my head before leaving the room while I grabbled through the closet to search for something to change my clothes with, and in the end, I picked a blue floral sleeveless dress because it was pretty summery outside.
After I put it on, I just brushed my wavy shoulder length hair and sprayed sunscreen all over my face, and then I went down to find my husband's family already good to go.
Some of his relatives already went home, pero may mga ilan na nandito pa, kagaya nung pinsan niya na doctor na nag removed nung cast ko two days ago.
Also, Ate Winona's husband arrived. I didn't even know that she was married until yesterday when I met her husband.
"Love!" Wren called my attention. He was wearing sunglasses and a Lacoste baby blue polo shirt. "Tara na." He intertwined our hands together.
We walked out of their mansion together and found a white van parked outside.
"Where's your car?" I asked him because I couldn't see it here.
"Hiniram ni Henry," he replied—referring to one of his cousins.
"Anong sasakyan natin?"
"Ayan." He pointed the white van in front of us using his lips.
"Lahat tayo?" I never ran out of questions.
I counted all of us and found out that we were 12 in total, kaya siguradong hindi kami kakasya. Especially that most of them were boys with masculine bodies. Kami lang ni Ate Winona ang babae rito.
"Oo." Wren freed my hand to get inside the van, while I watched him squeeze himself inside because there was no more space. "Tara na, love."
I stayed unmoving because I didn't know where to put myself inside that crowded vehicle so I asked, "Saan ako uupo?"
"Dito." He patted his lap, at mas lalong hindi ako gumalaw hanggang sa magsalita ulit siya. "Dali na, love, aalis na tayo."
I shifted my eyes to the driver's seat and caught his cousin's gaze at me because he was waiting for me to get in.
All of them were already settled but looked so uncomfortable in their positions dahil nagsisiksikan sila kaya wala na akong choice kung hindi ang sumakay dahil ako nalang ang hinihintay nila at para mag end na ang sufferings nila.
