Forty minutes later, Qi Min sent a message—9 PM flight to the UK.

Yu Ting packed some essential items casually, informing Old Master Yu and Ran Ling that she was already on the plane heading abroad only when it was close to takeoff.

She gave a random work-related reason, not intending to wait for their replies, just wanting to leave everything behind. Yu Ting didn't even feel any guilt, nor did she need to worry.

No need to worry about the gentle Ran Ling, no need to worry about Old Master Yu, who, no matter how rebellious she was, would never truly sever their grandfather-granddaughter relationship. Nor did she need to worry about her career in China—someone was already managing it for her. As for the Yu family's businesses, there was someone else looking after them too.

Her vice president.

"Have you had breakfast, Miss Jin?"

Yu Ting liked calling her "Miss Jin" because she looked so serious all the time, despite how well they knew each other. Yu Ting liked to use formal terms, partly to tease her.

The voice on the other end was all business: "Yes, I have."

"Just finished?"

"Half an hour ago. Why?"

"I calculated the time difference perfectly, how could I be off by half an hour?" Yu Ting complained.

"How long will you be gone?" Jin Ya ignored her theatrics.

Yu Ting had just landed not long ago and hadn't really calculated it carefully: "Hmm... probably about a month. I'll be back in June."

"You'd better keep an eye on the company for me. Don't let any stray dogs..."

Jin Ya: "I know."

Yu Ting chuckled, "Are you avoiding talking to me? Why are you in such a hurry to cut me off?"

Yu Ting liked teasing her like this, but Jin Ya's responses were always short and to the point: "Efficiency."

"Fine, so, Miss Jin, are you going to hang up now? I have nothing else to say."

Jin Ya replied decisively: "Yes, hanging up."

"Wait, hold on," Yu Ting stopped her again.

"What?"

"My wedding is in June. I'll give you a week off, how about sparing two days to come and join the fun?"

Jin Ya was silent for two seconds, probably calculating her work schedule in her head, before replying, "Mm."

Yu Ting laughed, "Alright, you can hang up now."

Yu Ting flew to the UK with Qi Min, who had some business to attend to. After a few days in the UK, Yu Ting went to Italy.

Yu Ting and Jin Ya had met in Italy—during Yu Ting's second year of studying abroad after running away from home, and Jin Ya's first year of financial hardship.

It had almost been eight years now. Miss Jin was a born academic, always serious, meticulous in her work, morally upright, and proud. Time had proven many things, and Yu Ting trusted her completely. Jin Ya was probably the only person in Yu Ting's life she trusted fully. She could hand over everything to her without a second thought, and Yu Hao, that "wild dog," had repeatedly been beaten by Jin Ya in their business battles.

Yu Ting still remembered the first time she saw her... Jin Ya was only 19 back then, much more adorable than she was now.

Italy had become like a second home for Yu Ting, where she had a villa. Coming back here, she knew many familiar faces, so it didn't feel much lonelier than being in China. The only real difference was that the bar where she drank with friends wasn't hers, though the owner was an old acquaintance.
