Today is New Year's Eve.

All company affairs have been entrusted to Jin Ya, while Yu Ting has smoothly boarded a plane to Southeast Asia.

Pei Ya kept her promise and gave her Ran Ling's address. Ran Ling is currently living at her aunt's sanatorium to recuperate and has taken a part-time job as a teacher in a school for the deaf, teaching three days a week, shuttling between the sanatorium and the art studio.

The flight lasts five hours, landing at 4 PM local time. After more than a month apart, Yu Ting is particularly anxious. She asked her assistant to deliver her things to the hotel, and immediately took a taxi to the sanatorium, wearing the prepared gifts.

She feels excited and urgent, but this excitement and urgency bring her comfort; in the world of about to meet Ran Ling, she feels great. She doesn't see herself as a patient, but as an ordinary person who is about to reunite with someone she misses.

Of course, she is also nervous. It feels like she is a student about to take an exam, with her fate not in her hands. She needs to perform her best, being careful and cautious in every action and word. On the way to the sanatorium, she keeps rehearsing in her mind how she can do better.

There is security outside the sanatorium. Yu Ting informs him of her purpose, and he says she needs to call and apply for permission to enter. Yu Ting nods, and the security guard calls someone named "Wei Dong."

—Ran Ling's aunt, Wei Rumei, 45 years old, unmarried. She is a friend of Ran Ling's mother and has always lived abroad, where she has her own business.

Wei Rumei is not blood-related to Ran Ling. Previously, Ran Ling never mentioned this aunt to Yu Ting, and Yu Ting only learned of her existence through Pei Ya.

The call connects, and the security guard informs Ms. Wei of Yu Ting's purpose. The other party evidently knows who Yu Ting is, and fortunately, there is no difficulty; soon someone comes to greet her.

Yu Ting is brought into the sanatorium. It is not large, located by the sea, with a decor leaning towards Western style. It seems not to be open to the public; the hall is quiet with few people around. The people passing by are all dressed in uniforms, either servants or workers, including locals and Chinese.

Yu Ting is taken to the villa's lobby. A maid takes her many gifts and leads her to the waiting area, pouring her a cup of tea.

Yu Ting takes it and smiles, saying, "Thank you."

Before boarding the plane, Yu Ting applied delicate makeup and touched it up on the flight to ensure perfection. She wears a summer dress that Ran Ling once said looked nice, a purple floral shirt paired with tailored pants, with her collar open to reveal her delicate collarbone. Her long hair is also meticulously styled, exuding a mature, yet casual charm.

She sits quietly, naturally exuding elegance but also being approachable. Whenever the maid speaks to her, she responds with a smile, entirely different from the other esteemed guests.

The maid quietly observes her and notices a diamond ring on her left ring finger. Is she already married?

"You are here to see Miss Ran, right? Ms. Wei just informed me about you. However, Miss Ran is out today, as is Director Feng. They haven't returned yet, but it should be soon. Please sit and wait a moment."

"Okay, thank you."

Yu Ting takes a few sips of tea, puts down the cup, and looks at her palm, which has a thin layer of sweat, feeling somewhat sticky. She asks the maid for a piece of paper to wipe it.
