Yu Ting returned home with her two cats.

She owned many properties, but she had no home; wherever Ran Ling was, that was her home. She had learned this lesson the last time Ran Ling had left her.

It had been nearly two months since she last returned to this small apartment. The cleaning service had taken care of it, and it looked exactly as it had before she left.

The cozy atmosphere hadn't changed at all, even the cats recognized it.

Cats were carefree creatures, unlike Yu Ting. After finishing the cat food she had set out for them, the two sisters climbed back into their old beds to sleep.

Yu Ting sat alone on the sofa, lost in thought and not knowing what she was waiting for. She was afraid to go into the bedroom, which was filled with traces of Ran Ling's life; everything was still there, and she feared that seeing it would upset her too much.

It was already nine in the evening. Besides feeding the cats, Yu Ting had been sitting there the whole time.

She was in a bad mood, and at this moment, she finally admitted to herself—she didn't really want to break up with Ran Ling; she was just angry. She loved Ran Ling, deeply and wholeheartedly. Her quarrels with Ran Ling were merely a way for her to see Ran Ling show some vulnerability and care for her. Yu Ting wanted to see Ran Ling worry about her; she wanted to feel that Ran Ling loved her and that she mattered to her.

But why... how could Ran Ling so easily agree to the breakup? Why?

Was it because what Yu Ting said was truly too much and hurtful? Yu Ting admitted that she had indeed gone too far. But why hadn't Ran Ling reached out to her? Yu Ting had said she would block her on WeChat, yet here she was, still holding her phone, waiting for a message.

Or perhaps Ran Ling didn't want to continue this relationship either?

Ran Ling loved money and power more. When she realized she could no longer gain anything from Yu Ting, Yu Ting became her discarded pawn.

Ran Ling really didn't love her—not at all.

Yu Ting felt like she was about to go insane—her mental state was fragile. Less than five hours after leaving Ran Ling, the thought that Ran Ling might not love her at all made her feel miserable again. Just after being declared mentally stable by the doctor, she started trembling, her heart racing, and cold sweat forming.

She was starting to hate Ran Ling.

Not knowing what she wanted to do, she suddenly stood up from the sofa. With a "crash," something fell to the floor, halting her movement.

Looking down, she saw it was her phone. Yu Ting squatted down to pick it up, turning it over to check. She discovered that the screen was shattered.

The back cover had several cracks, and there were glass shards that could cut her hands.

Testing to see if the phone still worked, she was relieved to find that it could still light up. She searched for a nearby store that sold her phone brand, calling to inquire about repairs.

After receiving a positive response, she arrived at the store twenty minutes later and asked the staff to help her replace the broken back cover.

"Sure, we have parts for this model in stock. Please have a seat; it'll take about twenty minutes."

Yu Ting sat in the waiting area, feeling anxious. Her fingers tapped nervously on the table. She tried to distract herself by observing others.

This was a bustling area, filled with people. It was her first time in a phone repair store; whenever her phone broke in the past, she would have her assistant handle it for her. She had never had the concept of repairing a phone before.
