Yu Ting stood up, and it seemed that Ran Ling had fallen back asleep on the bed.

Yu Ting felt unusually lighthearted, unable to describe her emotions. Ran Ling had slapped her, and at that moment, she felt Ran Ling was so strange and fierce, like a completely different person. But she hadn't changed; she still lay on her bed, lazily burying her face in the covers, just like a fox as she always had.

It was a particularly contradictory feeling, so contradictory it was almost enchanting...

Perhaps the slap had taught her to behave. Although desire still lingered in her heart, she didn't dare to offend again. Yu Ting turned and went out to pour herself a glass of water. She returned to the room quietly and didn't dare to do anything, instead sitting on the sofa beside the bed, watching the woman sleeping soundly, her breath restrained and slow. Her sharp eyes observed the rise and fall of Ran Ling's breathing. She felt like a wolf, wanting whatever treasures Ran Ling possessed but hesitant to take them.

She couldn't steal or take the meat; she could only wait for the master to feed her.

...

Finally, as it was time to get up, Yu Ting felt she had a justifiable reason to approach Ran Ling. She walked to the bedside, bent down, and gently patted her shoulder, brushing aside her messy hair to reveal her face. "It's time to get up."

Ran Ling stirred, her breathing deepening. After a moment of discomfort, she opened her eyes, still hazy with sleep. Yu Ting, with a mix of restraint and softness, repeated, "You need to get up."

It was like coaxing a child, but it carried a different flavor. Ran Ling weakly brushed her hand away as if a little disgusted, turned over, and stretched, bringing with her a waft of the scent of a well-rested woman. Her body extended as she wasn't fully awake yet; she raised her soft arm and rubbed her eyes.

This scene made Yu Ting's gaze go a little dazed, making her want to kiss her even more than when she was sound asleep.

Unaware of Yu Ting's inner turmoil, Ran Ling simply expressed her morning grouch, kicked off the covers, and headed to the bathroom, leaving Yu Ting with a view of her long hair cascading down her back.

Yu Ting instinctively followed, but the bathroom door closed first with a "click," snapping her back to reality and halting her steps.

Her heart was restless, unable to settle.

If only Ran Ling were still as clingy as before. If Ran Ling were still as affectionate, then the first thing she would do after waking would be to find her, hugging her waist and kissing her like they used to in the mornings.

How much she wanted to kiss her...

Even if she were to be slapped while kissing...

These things had once been so easily attainable for her, and the regret for her past self surged anew.

...

After a simple wash, Ran Ling emerged from the bathroom. She didn't bother with makeup, just put on some lipstick and told Yu Ting they were heading downstairs.

On the way to the theater, the two remained almost silent.

It wasn't until they reached the theater entrance that Ran Ling turned to glance at Yu Ting, clearly questioning with her eyes whether to stay or go since Yu Ting didn't have a ticket.

Of course, Yu Ting had her own way of getting a ticket to sit next to Ran Ling, entering the venue together.

The play was captivating, and Ran Ling watched with full concentration, while Yu Ting was less interested, spending most of her energy observing Ran Ling.
