[Every time I wake from a nightmare, I can't see Tingting.]

[Tingting doesn't care about me at all.]

[Tingting doesn't like me.]

With her usual persuasive tactics, Yu Ting finally managed to break down the emotional walls that Ran Ling had built, allowing her to express the troubling thoughts she had been hiding.

These were the reasons for Ran Ling's sadness, the grievances she had kept to herself all along.

But in truth, Yu Ting already knew all of this.

Every time Ran Ling woke up from a nightmare without Yu Ting by her side, she felt like Yu Ting didn't care about her; she liked Yu Ting so much, yet Yu Ting didn't like her.

To Yu Ting, Ran Ling was merely a pastime, a plaything. Whenever she was in the mood, she'd play with her; when she wasn't, she could easily resort to cold indifference.

Yu Ting had been enjoying this situation all along, fully aware of how Ran Ling was being treated, and because it was Yu Ting, Ran Ling was willing to accept it.

She could have endured it indefinitely.

Perhaps because she was sick and feeling weak, she had become a bit too sensitive today.

The things Ran Ling had initially not wanted to say could have just ended quietly. Or perhaps they could never really end; she was just throwing a small tantrum. After today, or in a few days when they returned to the same roof, as long as Yu Ting showed her a little kindness or beckoned her with a finger, she would still easily fall for Yu Ting's sweet talk.

In front of Yu Ting, she was so easily swayed, as if she had no boundaries at all.

Just like now, because of the concern and teasing she had revealed, she started to hope that perhaps Yu Ting also had a little bit of affection for her and that their relationship might change.

She truly did not want to keep her distance from Yu Ting; she couldn't bear it and would feel incredibly sad...

Would Yu Ting feel heartache too?

After letting Yu Ting read what she had said, Ran Ling turned off the screen, tightly gripping her phone in her hand. She raised her tear-soaked eyes to look at the person in front of her, filled with defiance yet also hope, trying to find something different in Yu Ting's gaze.

"Did you just cry because you had a nightmare this morning and I wasn't there?"

Yu Ting did not evade her gaze and softly asked.

Yes. She was being this dramatic.

Ran Ling nodded.

Ran Ling waited for Yu Ting to continue speaking.

But it seemed Yu Ting was lost in thought, staring at her, not saying anything for a long time.

Gradually, Ran Ling found this waiting unbearable, feeling a bit awkward. She thought Yu Ting was hesitating or was figuring out how to refuse her. Tears of grievance welled up again, and she turned to leave.

Only then did Yu Ting snap back to reality.

Seeing her distressed expression, a pang of sympathy hit Yu Ting. Not wanting to let her misunderstand anything further, she reached out and hugged her.

"Don't move."

Compared to the frail woman, Yu Ting was strong, her grip commanding. Ran Ling instantly froze, tilting her head. Yu Ting's face came closer from behind, and Ran Ling's eyelashes fluttered. Instinctively wanting to shy away, she turned her head back, but her body still couldn't escape Yu Ting's hold. Yu Ting rested her chin on Ran Ling's delicate shoulder, tilting her head to bury it in Ran Ling's neck, filled with possessiveness.
