After being hospitalized due to illness and a fracture, Yu Ting lost a lot of weight during that time. Her body felt soft to the touch, and her skin had turned pale from lack of sunlight, making her look fragile and weak.

She didn't like this at all, as she had been dedicated to fitness for years, pursuing a sense of strength and beauty. She often reminisced about the time before she got sick when her figure wasn't so frail. Back then, Ran Ling wasn't as openly exposed as she was now; the shy demeanor of the little white rabbit, Sister Ling, was genuine and real. She would often stare at Yu Ting's body when she wore a tank top or just underwear, blushing and wanting to touch her but hesitating, only daring to quietly touch her when they embraced.

Previously, Ran Ling loved to touch her abdomen because of her abs. Now, all that remained was a thin line of definition; Yu Ting could sense that Ran Ling felt more pity for her body rather than being captivated by it like before.

Yu Ting found this hard to accept.

So, once the bones in her arm had fully healed, she made rehabilitation a priority. After returning from a trip to the beach, Ran Ling fell into a busy work schedule, even having to travel for a month. When Yu Ting first heard about it, she resisted strongly, but eventually, she was coaxed into compromise like a frog being boiled in warm water by Ran Ling. She couldn't stop Ran Ling and couldn't go with her either, as she had her own work to attend to. They could only part temporarily.

Ran Ling prepared well for her departure, instructing Yu Ting's life assistant to supervise her medication, meals, and doctor's appointments, even sending over a meal plan and a schedule, as if she were putting her into foster care.

Ran Ling's flight left at nine in the morning, and they had to wake up before seven. Yu Ting was still asleep when the person beside her got up and busied herself, waking her up. Yu Ting didn't say a word and lay on her side, watching Ran Ling get dressed and answer phone calls. If Ran Ling hadn't turned back to grab her watch from the bedside table, she wouldn't have noticed Yu Ting was awake.

That's how Yu Ting was now; when she was unhappy, she didn't like to talk. She knew she couldn't prevent Ran Ling from going on a business trip, nor could she argue with her. She kept her feelings bottled up, waiting for Ran Ling to notice her demeanor and feel distressed about how wronged she felt.

So, Ran Ling sat on the edge of the bed, letting Yu Ting rest her head on her lap, spending half an hour coaxing her to sleep a little longer. She even said, "Be good, Ting Ting; a month will pass quickly."

"Liar," Yu Ting thought to herself as she closed her eyes.

A month felt very long.

Indeed, a month was quite long. Yu Ting lost her temper several times, smashing three vases, two cups, and a phone at home.

She smashed her phone. When she did, she forgot to put on a phone case, and it wouldn't turn on. She used her assistant's phone to tell Ran Ling about it, her tone filled with a sense of grievance, as if something precious that Ran Ling had given her had broken and she didn't know what to do. Ran Ling had her assistant buy her a new one and arranged to have the locator from the broken phone installed in it, which finally eased her restless anxiety.

This version of Yu Ting was too heart-wrenching. As a result, Ran Ling shortened her month-long trip by five days.

On the day Ran Ling returned from her business trip, Yu Ting did not go to the airport to pick her up.

By the time the plane landed, it was already eight in the evening. When Ran Ling returned home, she found the living room dark and couldn't find anyone after searching. She messaged, "Did Ting Ting go out to play?"
