"How long are you going to sulk after coming out with me?"

In the first-class cabin of the airplane, a woman's soft, sweet voice broke the silence. Yu Ting was seated by the window, glancing outside. Ran Ling tucked the blanket around her, but Yu Ting continued to ignore her, as if she hadn't heard a thing.

Ran Ling understood her mood; it wouldn't help to try to coax her at the moment, so she decided not to. "You stayed up late last night. Why not close your eyes and sleep for a bit? You'll wake up just in time for arrival."

Leaning forward, Ran Ling drew the curtain and took out earplugs and an eye mask, putting them on Yu Ting. Yu Ting maintained her cold, expressionless demeanor throughout. Ran Ling didn't feel aggrieved; she served her like a revered ancestor. She gently stroked Yu Ting's hair, took her hand resting on the armrest, and leaned over to kiss her cheek.

The sensation was particularly clear in the absence of sight. Yu Ting loved the slight "chu" sound that Ran Ling made when she kissed her cheek. After the kiss, Yu Ting turned her head slightly, and her hand remained held in Ran Ling's, who was tenderly stroking the back of her hand, as if trying to lull her to sleep.

Though Yu Ting showed no response, she began to feel a sense of drowsiness creeping in.

Two hours later, the plane began serving meals, and Yu Ting woke up naturally. She lifted her eye mask to see Ran Ling speaking with a woman who had chestnut-colored hair, wearing casual suits and thin-framed glasses.

Yu Ting lowered her eyes and noticed that Ran Ling was no longer holding her hand.

"Xiao Ling? What a coincidence! You're on the same flight. Are you here to have fun?"

Ran Ling smiled warmly, "What a coincidence to meet you here."

"Yeah, I'm here with friends. And you..." The woman who called Ran Ling "Xiao Ling" glanced over her shoulder at Yu Ting. "Oh, you're with Yu Ting?"

"Yeah. Just accompanying her to relax a bit."

"Got it. I'll head back to my seat now. Let's chat on WeChat." Not wanting to block the aisle, the woman quickly said goodbye to Yu Ting and returned to her seat.

"Did you wake up?" Ran Ling slowly turned her gaze to Yu Ting, whose black eyes held a silent question and lingering resentment.

Yu Ting felt that the woman looked familiar; perhaps she had seen her somewhere before but couldn't recall the specific details—yet it was inevitable that she would know Ran Ling.

Yu Ting's gaze silently probed; she cared about everything related to Ran Ling and the people in her life.

"Her name is Ran Qing, the little girl adopted by Grandma, and she works at Ran's Group too."

"So she's my aunt by marriage."

Aunt. Not a blood relation.

At that moment, Ran Ling's phone buzzed, and a message from her aunt came through, asking which hotel they had booked. Ran Ling bent down to reply.

"Auntie and her friends might want to hang out with us."

Hang out?

"Are you close with her?" Finally, Yu Ting spoke the first words of the day.

"Finally talking, huh?" Ran Ling chuckled and took Yu Ting's hand.

"If you don't talk, I might think that being mute is contagious. If I get it, I'll pass it on to you." Luckily, they both knew sign language, so even if they became mute, they could still communicate.
