After Ran Ling finished speaking, Yu Ting stared at her intently, like a feline lurking in the night, silent and watchful.

Was she judging her?

Or doubting her?

Doubting, perhaps?

Ran Ling gave a self-deprecating smile, turning her head away and lowering her gaze. A wave of sorrow welled up in her eyes. Gradually, the smile faded, leaving only a trace of bitterness.

Suddenly feeling stifled, she rolled down the car window halfway, tilting her head to let the wind blow in. The roar of the wind at her ear slowly scattered her thoughts, until she vaguely heard Yu Ting say, "Close it."

Hmm?

Ran Ling blinked, hearing Yu Ting repeat, "Close the window."

She added in a restrained tone, "You shouldn't be in the wind."

Ran Ling chuckled, her eyes curving in the dim light, and she obeyed, rolling the window back up.

The silence in the car lingered, with the aisle between them unbreached. Neither moved, and Yu Ting turned her face to look out the window.

An unspoken tension filled the air, a mix of longing and anticipation, their hearts beating impatiently as if they could barely wait to be close. Even the driver could feel the atmosphere between them.

Why wasn't it over yet?

So impatient.

Time seemed to crawl, each second precious as the car pulled into the underground parking lot. Ran Ling was only there to see her off; it seemed they'd soon be parting.

Ran Ling wanted to ask Yu Ting what she really thought, but felt the question was too complex to answer in a few words. So instead, she asked in a lighthearted way, "Ting Ting, may I go up and see the cats?"

Both cats were in Yu Ting's possession now; Ran Ling didn't have any left and felt quite pitiful, so alone.

Yu Ting wasn't the type to be stingy, and she wouldn't deny Ran Ling the right to see the cats.

She wouldn't refuse—yet she still had to maintain her pride, and in a low, playful voice said, "No."

The voice was so soft it was barely audible.

"No?" Ran Ling tilted her head, sighing. "So stingy."

But as Yu Ting stepped out of the car, she walked a few steps ahead and then paused, as if waiting for someone.

Ran Ling walked up behind her, gave her a playful slap on the backside, stretched out her hand, and in a soft but commanding voice said, "Give me the elevator card."

The vocal Ran Ling was more difficult to deal with than the silent one. Yu Ting recognized this, realizing she wasn't a match for her anymore.

She's so persuasive—was everything she said really true?

So good at giving orders, so authoritative.

No amount of pride could resist the command of this "bad woman." Yu Ting took a deep breath and obediently handed over the elevator card. After taking it, Ran Ling naturally took her hand and looked back at the driver, saying, "Wait here for me."

"Yes, Miss."

Would she have to go back?

Yu Ting frowned in displeasure, gripping Ran Ling's hand tighter.

Maybe she'd have to go back, if Ting Ting ended up telling her to leave.

Could Yu Ting really send her away?

They entered the elevator side by side, the doors closing to leave them alone. Yu Ting, breathing heavily, held her waist and drew her close, first kissing her quickly and passionately, then finding enough composure to ask in a hoarse whisper, "Is it true or not? Do you really love me that much?"

She asked after the kiss, like someone checking if they'd been scammed only after all the money was gone. So foolishly sweet, it was endearing.

Ran Ling smiled. "Of course it's true."

"Don't lie to me."

The tone was somewhere between a threat and a declaration. Yu Ting moved toward her lips again, intent on another kiss, but Ran Ling raised a hand to cover her mouth, whispering, "There's a camera here."

Frustrated, Yu Ting kissed her palm instead, the sound lingering in the air as she whispered, "Ignore it..."

Ran Ling didn't remove her hand, so Yu Ting began to plant kisses on her cheeks, her forehead. The only way to ease her intense need was through kisses, she couldn't help herself.

"Stop." After a moment, Ran Ling sternly halted her, and Yu Ting, in obedience to her commanding tone, froze. Her loyalty showed in her restraint under strict orders.

Ran Ling held her face, a soft smile in her voice as she murmured, "I haven't checked—did you drink tonight?"

"No, I didn't."

"Then I'll have to check."

"How?"

Ran Ling gave a small laugh, tilted her head up, and kissed her, savoring for a moment before confirming, "You really didn't."

As she pulled back, her eyes curved with a playful charm as she praised, "Ting Ting smells so nice."

"Such a good girl."

The two cats had woken up, patrolling the apartment like little guardians. Hearing the fingerprint lock click, they ran to the door, meowing eagerly. As Yu Ting opened the door, they saw Ran Ling and, before she even entered, they were pawing at her legs with purrs and chirps.

Usually, Ran Ling would be delighted, bending down to pet them with a melted heart. But right now, someone else needed her attention more. Yu Ting kissed her as she closed the door, pressing her against it, and then led her to the sofa, holding her close, desire and affection overtaking them both.

Yu Ting was like an affectionate dog, especially eager, always reaching with her tongue, passionate and struggling to control herself, wanting nothing more than to capture Ran Ling's breath. The intensity made it hard for Ran Ling to keep up. But Yu Ting still held back, mindful of Ran Ling's health, restraining her longing even while she showered her with affection—kissing her cheeks, her ears, her forehead, her nose, her neck. Every part of Ran Ling seemed to captivate her.

Ran Ling found herself drawn to Yu Ting's hazy, smoldering gaze, filled with ardor.

Ran Ling was completely enveloped in this full-hearted, passionate love. In a daze, she thought that perhaps Ting Ting was even more enamored with her than before. Was it because of those words?

Those words, telling of how deeply she loved her.

Yu Ting loved hearing them, craved to hear them, and wanted to hear even more.

The room filled with the faint scent of Ran Ling's perfume as she leaned against the headboard, drifting comfortably. Yu Ting, her face damp, rose beside her, seeking her out for more affection, almost pleading, "Ran Ling, say those sweet things to me, just say them again."

Ran Ling, still reeling from the intimacy, found herself held tenderly in Yu Ting's embrace, surrounded and reassured.

There was no way Yu Ting could be unkind to her, no way she could bear to see her suffer. From the moment she'd declared how deeply she loved Yu Ting, Yu Ting was lost. She just wanted to hear those sweet words again and again, convincing herself with each reassurance.

"Say it again, my love. Tell me you love me."
