Ran Ling clung to her for a long time before reluctantly pulling away.

Having lost all her grievances and temper, her gaze at Yu Ting was especially gentle, filled with emotions that seemed to weave delicate threads of spring. To Yu Ting, it felt like she had become even more clingy.

Was it because they had confirmed their relationship?

However, after the flush on her cheeks faded, the pallor beneath became evident. There was not a hint of color on her face; she looked incredibly sickly, clearly forcing herself to stay strong.

Yu Ting wanted to ask if she needed to eat something, but remembering that she had just thrown up not long ago, she decided against it.

Ran Ling listened to her and obediently lay down, but she couldn't bring herself to close her eyes, fixating her gaze on Yu Ting sitting in front of her. She raised the hand that wasn't getting an injection and stroked Yu Ting's face.

Yu Ting was very particular about her skin care, rarely allowing blemishes or dark circles to appear on her face. But at this moment, dark circles hung under her eyes, making her look haggard.

A pang of pain arose in Ran Ling's heart. She knew Yu Ting hadn't lied; she really had taken care of her all night.

She hadn't slept well the night before, and hadn't slept at all yesterday. Even now, she hadn't been able to close her eyes.

Yu Ting didn't speak, letting her touch her, gazing at her with long, delicate eyelashes.

It was clear that Ran Ling's emotions were shifting, silently asking: What's wrong?

Her eyes had no hint of aggression; instead, they carried a bit of confusion, softening the cold elegance she usually exuded, making her seem obedient in Ran Ling's eyes.

Ran Ling held Yu Ting's neck, using a bit of strength to pull her down. Yu Ting complied, leaning down towards her. "What's wrong?"

She understood Ran Ling's intent; Ran Ling wanted her to lie down and rest too.

"... Wait a minute."

Yu Ting increased the air conditioning temperature in the hospital room, took out the blanket she had brought from home to cover Ran Ling instead of the hospital's thin blanket.

Ran Ling was genuinely surprised and delighted, much like an animal that only feels safe with things that carry its own scent.

After the surprise of the blanket, Ran Ling immediately looked at her again, her eyes full of expectation. Yu Ting didn't refuse; under her eager gaze, she lay down next to her on the not-so-spacious hospital bed.

Lying on her side and holding her close, their noses brushed against each other's ear, creating a posture of lovers.

"Sleep," Yu Ting said.

With Yu Ting's arm resting on her waist, Ran Ling turned her face to meet Yu Ting's eyes, closing her own.

Discomfort and fatigue came crashing back after the excitement faded.

Being sick was indeed unpleasant. Her throat hurt, her head was spinning, her stomach and chest felt uncomfortable, and her heart... it seemed there wasn't a part of her that felt good. But because Yu Ting was there, she wished this moment could last forever.

Due to the medication and her own weakness, Ran Ling slept deeply and didn't wake up until the next morning.

Having slept too long and too deeply, she had too many dreams, and her mind felt hazy, responding unusually slowly.
