Lin Kong couldn't believe that Song Keyan had once liked Jiang Yuan. Her vigilance towards Song Keyan intensified, and she glanced at Jiang Yuan, feeling a pang of jealousy over something she hadn't known before.

Jiang Yuan, sensing Lin Kong's gaze, discreetly squeezed her hand under the table to reassure her and continued, "Miss Song, I have another question I'd like to ask you."

Song Keyan, lost in thought over the jade pendant, nodded.

"I noticed the intricate pattern on the pendant," Jiang Yuan began. "At first glance, it seems engraved, yet there are no visible marks. Could you tell me how it was made?" Jiang Yuan felt guilty for prying, taking advantage of Song Keyan's trust.

Song Keyan replied, "This pendant is a family heirloom. The pattern is crafted using an ancestral technique and serves as a family symbol. I don't know the specifics, only my father does."

Jiang Yuan followed up, "Does your father have a similar pendant?"

"No, my father's is engraved on his sword," Song Keyan said. Lin Kong abruptly stood before sitting back down. Song Keyan, confused, continued, "Though he doesn't practice martial arts, he enjoys staying fit and treasures his sword, so he had the pattern engraved on it."

With that, the situation became clearer.

After parting ways with Song Keyan, Jiang Yuan faced the dual task of comforting Lin Kong and explaining everything to Shi Qi, leaving her feeling overwhelmed.

Hearing Jiang Yuan's account, Shi Qi's face was a mix of disbelief, her voice trembling as she said, "You mean the enemy I've been seeking is actually Song Keyan's father?"

She felt something inside her shatter, irreversibly.

Jiang Yuan struggled to find comforting words, saying, "Yes, it's him."

Her tone left no room for doubt. Shi Qi's face paled, but she wasn't impulsive like Lin Kong. Considering recent events, she knew entering the palace was inevitable. "I need to speak with Song Keyan."

With that, she swiftly departed towards the inn, leaving only a solitary figure behind.

Lin Kong called out, "Senior Sister."

Jiang Yuan, watching Shi Qi leave, said, "Let her go. She knows what she's doing and won't speak out of turn."

Lin Kong's tense heart relaxed, but she turned to Jiang Yuan, pouting, "Wife, are you hiding something from me?"

Jiang Yuan glanced at the sky, feigning ignorance, "Looks like it might rain. We should hurry back before we get soaked."

Lin Kong looked up, seeing no sign of rain, realizing Jiang Yuan was teasing her. Glancing around, she saw Jiang Yuan had already dashed off.

Trying to use her agility to catch up, Lin Kong struggled with her cumbersome outfit, awkwardly chasing after Jiang Yuan, nearly tripping several times.

Jiang Yuan, noticing Lin Kong lagging, waited. Seeing her approach, looking flustered and annoyed, she realized she might be in trouble.

Reaching Jiang Yuan, Lin Kong didn't stop, walking past with a pout. She found women's clothes particularly inconvenient—not just wearing them, but even the hairstyle was a hassle, her steps feeling hindered.
