Lin Kong and Jiang Yuan lingered in bed for a while before going to dinner. As night fell, Shi Qi still hadn't returned, prompting Lin Kong to worry, "Wife, could something have happened to Senior Sister?"

Jiang Yuan shared the concern, and they prepared to find Song Keyan for answers. Before leaving the courtyard, they saw Shi Qi approaching, unsteady on her feet.

She seemed to struggle with her balance, nearly tripping over her own feet. Alarmed, Lin Kong rushed to support her, worried she might collapse.

As they got closer, a strong scent of alcohol hit them, making Lin Kong cough. Concerned, she asked, "Senior Sister, why did you drink so much?"

Shi Qi, slurring her words, mumbled, "I... am... pitiful."

Jiang Yuan arrived just in time to hear this. She suspected what had transpired and, with Lin Kong, helped Shi Qi to bed. Shi Qi, though restless, was finally settled, her brows furrowed and cheeks flushed from the alcohol, but she no longer spoke or moved.

Lin Kong and Jiang Yuan exchanged puzzled looks. Jiang Yuan instructed Lin Kong to stay and watch over Shi Qi while she went to the kitchen to make some sobering soup.

Lin Kong, never having drunk alcohol herself, was curious about the effects. Seeing Shi Qi's discomfort, she began to unfasten her outer clothing.

Lowering her gaze to undo the buttons, Lin Kong noticed a bite mark on Shi Qi's lip, clearly the result of someone biting hard, likely drawing blood. When Jiang Yuan returned, Lin Kong asked, "Wife, do you think Senior Sister encountered a bad person?"

"What did you find?" Jiang Yuan asked.

Realizing her oversight, Lin Kong awkwardly pointed to the bite mark on Shi Qi's lip. Jiang Yuan's glance seemed to say, "You don't know?" She didn't expose Lin Kong's feigned innocence, merely saying, "Do you think a bad person could overpower her?"

Lin Kong was reluctant to accept that Song Keyan might be involved. She couldn't interact with Song Keyan the same way after learning Song Qingwei was their enemy, let alone Shi Qi, who had grown to like Song Keyan. It would only deepen her pain, as they were destined to be opponents.

Jiang Yuan fed Shi Qi the sobering soup, wiped her face, and whispered to Lin Kong, "Don't mention this in front of Shi Qi again."

"Okay," Lin Kong understood. Bringing it up would only upset Shi Qi. After tidying up and ensuring Shi Qi was asleep, Lin Kong and Jiang Yuan retired for the night.

The next morning, Lin Kong, secretly donning men's clothes, was interrupted by the arrival of the etiquette instructor sent by Jing Anrui, who brought palace maid uniforms.

Reluctantly, Lin Kong changed out of the men's clothes, glancing at Jiang Yuan and Shi Qi. Shi Qi had risen early and hadn't mentioned the previous night, standing silently with a resolute air.

Prepared for the day, Jiang Yuan distributed the clothes to Lin Kong and Shi Qi, with Lin Kong reluctantly accepting hers.

Fortunately, the palace maid uniforms were modest and similar in style to their usual attire, sparing Jiang Yuan the worry of Lin Kong being uncomfortable.

Dressed identically, the three presented a refreshing sight. With Jing Anrui's instructions, the etiquette instructor only taught them the most basic manners and customs.
