Two weeks later I lie in Theodore's bed between his legs, back pressed against his chest, thinking back on the past weeks as he braids strands of my hair. Draco had yet to find a suitable place for us to brew the potion, making me anxious. Six months was a long time to brew, which meant that one of us would have to stay over Christmas break to continue the brewing process. It was mid-September now, so if we start soon the potion should be complete in about March. That's if things go well.
I let out a sigh as my mind pondered the risks of it all.
"What's wrong?" Theo asks softly, pausing his braiding, "Did I pull your hair?"
I let out a tiny laugh, "No. Just thinking."
"About watching me at the Quidditch tryouts tomorrow?" He smirks, leaning down to press a kiss on my temple.
"Those are tomorrow?" I ask, biting my nails.
Theo grabs my hand, "Yes, and stop biting your nails, that's a nasty habit."
I scoff, "Smokings also a nasty habit." I sass.
Theo gasps dramatically, "You should know that I haven't smoked a cig since...fuck I don't know, a week into our relationship?"
"Oh really? Then why did I smell smoke coming from your dorm last night?"
Theo curses under his breath, "That was Blaise!"
"Blaise only occasionally smokes weed when he feels pressured to at parties, and it did not smell like weed." I counter.
"Then it was Lorenzo!" He tries.
"Astoria said she'd break up with him if he dared to smoke any substances. Well, if she were to catch him specifically. Maybe I should try that one out."
Theo groans in defeat and rubs his face with his hand,"Ok, fine! I do it on stressful occasions, but really that's all." He explains.
"What are you stressed about?" I ask, my once mischievous look melting in to a softer one.
"It's nothing, don't worry about it." He mutters, brushing it off.
"You know you can always tell me anything, I'm here for you." I insist.
He just shakes his head, "It's fine, really. Nothing to worry about." He smiles slightly.
I nod and go back to picking my nails, worried. I knew there was something going on but I didn't want to pry. Prying would get me no where that's for sure. Infact, it could just start a wedge between us and that's the last thing I wanted.
Theo tightly grabs my hand, "Stop picking your nails." He mumbles, a little more aggressively.
I sigh and lean back into him, "Easier said than done."
