( Irina's Dream)
Endless fields of decay and sand spread out in each direction Irina looked. Remains of buildings, withered trees and melted cars filled the landscape, as she found herself standing on a road. It was familiar to her, so she followed it as she would normally.
Turning right by the old bakery, going past the two objects that used to be cars, taking a left at the park and then stopping after a minute or two in front of the only unharmed building. The sky began to darken, so she went in.
" I'm home!" She put her shoes in their normal place, next to her moms and Issei's. He wasn't back yet. Her dad, half a head taller than her, leaned out from the corner of the kitchen door. His face lit up with a bright smile, welcoming her inside, before turning back to whatever he had been doing before.
The wind howled outside, as the clouds rolled across the house." Hey mom." Irina gave a small peck on her mothers left cheek, before sitting down on the sofa next to her, as her dad came over with freshly brewed tea. He put down a cup for each of them, three on their side and a single one on the other.
It began raining, quite strongly at that.' Iri-' Through the window out into the garden, Irina could spot a small figure approaching them far off in the distance, dragging a chain along with them. It held onto the clouds.
" He comes." Her mother said, then began repeating it. Irina wasn't bothered by it, her mother had been quite odd for some time now. Ever since Isse-' Irin-'," How has married life treated you so far, Irina?" Irina turned to look at her dad, who kept a trance like stare at the figure outside.
This felt weird." It's been okay.. I just kind of.. Forget we got married sometimes." Irina laughed a bit forcefully. Her dad just nodded, seeming uninterested.' When did I get married?.. And to whom?' Irina thought to herself, this place began to seem weirder and more unfamiliar as the thoughts lingered.
'Irina!'
Her head felt woozy, like she was about to fall asleep." I think.. I think imma go take a na-" Before she could stand up fully, both her dad and mom grabbed her and threw back on the sofa. She didn't feel like struggling, not now, not ever. Why did she even want to leave in the first place?
A passing thought. The storm became stronger, her mothers speech sped up, as her fathers face became more and more ghostly and pale to look at. He didn't wear his cross anymore. The figure opened the garden doors, letting the chain sit outside, as he came in dragging mud and rainwater onto the carpet.
" Hello, lord Typhon." Irina's father said, his body now was just a shade, as was her mother's. They were dead, forced to be here with her. The man didn't say anything, he just sat down on his seat on the floor. He wore many layers of tattered, muddy, brown fabrics and clothes, hiding all of his body underneath it.
He wore a crown of golden feathers, with a face like helmet melted to it, leaving his eyes visible. A bright orange pair, staring out at the world around him. He took his cup, then put it down immediately after.
" Wake up, girl."
The man said, his voice was harsh and rough, like he had been forced to eat gravel and dust for all his life.
" Wake up, before they deceive you again."
The shades of her parents grew bigger, looking more like creatures from a child's nightmares. Irina felt the weird feeling from before.
" Wake up, before you see what they want you to see."
The world began to spin, as her sight was focused on the man, blurry most of the things around." Who are you?"
