Chapter 154
Wayne Memorial room 001
Miexha sat quietly, staring blankly toward the window.
Her fingers lightly held the edge of the blanket.
Her thoughts still tangled in everything that had happened.
Marie stepped inside slowly.
Her nose twitched slightly as she caught the scent in the air.
Her eyes landed on the pie box.
For a brief moment—
her expression darkened.
She bit her lip subtly, suppressing irritation.
“Who brought this?” she asked calmly.
Miexha blinked and returned to the present.
“Oh… Zatariel brought it,” she answered gently.
She lifted the box slightly.
“It’s delicious.”
“His mother made it.”
Marie laughed softly for a brief second—
then composed herself again.
“Of course, Of course...” she murmured.
She took the remaining slice and bit into it.
Her eyes sharpened instantly.
Yes.
There was no mistake.
The flavor was rich and potent.
Very carefully prepared.
For hybrids like them—
it was delicious.
But for certain pure-blood individuals like the Dom family—
it could act as poison.
Marie continued chewing slowly, analyzing the taste.
Her tongue identified the ingredient immediately.
Hybrid wolf meat.
If the Alpha Wolf learned of this…
the information alone could be worth a fortune.
Without reacting outwardly, Marie placed the half-eaten slice into a small sealed container she retrieved from her bag.
Miexha watched curiously.
“Does it taste strange to you too?” she asked.
“Or maybe…”
She looked down shyly.
“…it only tastes good to me because I’m in love.”
Marie chuckled lightly.
“Yes,” she agreed casually.
“Whoever that mother is…”
“…she clearly knows you well.”
“Poor Jayson must be suffering right now.”
From her coat pocket, Marie produced a small vial filled with blue liquid.
She handed it to Miexha.
“Drink this.”
“It’s medicine.”
Her smile was calm but knowing.
Miexha did not hesitate.
She trusted Marie completely.
She drank the liquid in one motion.
“It tastes like mint… and blueberry,” she commented softly.
Marie chuckled.
“Yes.”
“Now your mind is clear.”
She observed Miexha carefully, searching for any trace of manipulation.
“So tell me…”
“What exactly did Zatariel ask from you?”
