Chapter 161

Departure Day - Armored Convoy to Blue City

Discharge procedures were completed faster than expected.

Miexha was cleared to leave.

Jayson and Ashel were also permitted to travel, though both were still advised to rest.

Anita remained visibly weak, her complexion pale despite the physician's approval.

Zaren insisted on the discharge.

Blue City was safer.

She would recover there.

Lia's report had already reached him.

Every detail.

Anita's betrayal was no longer speculation.

Yet Zaren chose silence.
For now.

The stability of the family took priority over confrontation.

He had quietly reassigned trusted men to monitor Anita's movements.

Her communications.
Her visitor logs.
Even her social media activity.

Nothing would escape him again.

Inside the Bulletproof Van
Zaren sat in the driver's seat, posture steady, hands firm on the steering wheel.

Beside him was the First Lady, Jane, calm as always, her presence dignified even in quiet tension.

The seating arrangement behind them was tightly organized.

First row: Anita, Zatariel, and little Zadriana.

Second row: Seleina, Marie, and Miexha.

Last row: Sphere, with his daughter Hannah seated comfortably on his lap, alongside Asha and Jayson.

Despite the recent danger, the atmosphere slowly softened.

Marie and Asha were already talking animatedly, their conversation light and playful.

Asha laughed softly at something Marie whispered.

The van gradually filled with small bursts of warmth.

Until Anita spoke.

"...Why are we leaving the capital?"

Her voice was quiet, but the question carried weight.

Marie answered without hesitation.

"We're going to Blue City," she said dryly, tone laced with faint sarcasm.

Asha giggled.

Marie glanced sideways at Asha and added,
"I'll give you a tour of our canning factory when we arrive."

Asha's eyes brightened.
"I'd love that!"

Miexha immediately raised her hand enthusiastically.
"I want to go too!"

Marie chuckled and patted her head.
"Of course you can."

Zatariel subtly raised his hand as well.

Marie noticed immediately.

"No boys allowed," she declared before he could even speak.
"Girls outing."

Seleina rolled her eyes dramatically and leaned back in her seat.

Her attention shifted toward Sphere.

At their scheduled stop in Red City for lunch-
she fully intended to sit beside her boyfriend.
