"Calum I'm sorry this happened..." Hazel came in from outside, and she rested her hand on my shoulder. She has been with me through a lot and I appreciated having her. She then rested her  head on my shoulder. "Wasn't your fault." I couldn't get much out in this moment. "Why don't you stay at my place tonight?" I nodded my head in agreement, and of course Hazel asked Mali if she wanted to stay too. She declined and ended up staying with her girlfriend.

We got home well after midnight and we made our way upstairs. We took a shower and made our way into bed. "Did you manage to eat today?" I asked Hazel, hoping for an honest answer. She shook her  head no, "My appetite hasn't been existent today Cal." I held onto her  waist. "Why's that?" I hope she's not reverting back into her troubled days. She shrugged her shoulders. "How are you feeling?" She was always looking out for others, and putting her needs and feelings last.

"I'm not...angry or sad or anything. I don't know this is just something I expected I guess. I'm not surprised really. I mean, I warned Mali about her for a reason..." It's true. I wasn't surprised. I wasn't expecting anything good to come from our mom being in our lives. "I'm just glad neither of you two are hurt." and I was. Hazel was beyond important to me, and I won't admit it much, but is Mali.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I want to know if you are okay Hazel. "That stuff can be replaced, but other than that it is what it is I guess." Hazel laid her head back down, and I pulled her close to me. We kissed each other goodnight, and finished with our 'I love you's.

The next morning I woke up without Hazel snuggled into my side.  "You left me." I slowly sat myself up. "How did you sleep?" Hazel took the blankets off my body slowly. "I slept okay, did you?" I wasn't going  to give Hazel the impression I wasn't okay, or wasn't well for any reason. "I was thinking Cal, maybe today we should change the locks, and file a claim with insurance..."

I nodded my  head, "Yeah, you're probably right." She was always a good problem solver.  Turns out, more than just the locks needed to be replaced. I had to find a professional to come and fix the doorframe. Since the door was kicked in, the wood on the frame was busted, and that had to be fixed too.  Hopefully this doesn't happen again or any time soon.

We went back to the home Mali and I built with Hazel's help. I was still in shock seeing the damage our mom caused. I can't say I hate her, but we're close to that.  "Cal, you okay?" I nodded my head, and went to grab a beer from the fridge.  "I know this isn't easy for you, but you can tell me anything." I nodded my head. I know Hazel was looking for an explanation, but there wasn't more I could stir up. Nothing I could really do, or think about. All I could do was create what if scenarios in my head. What if she brought someone else home? What if she actually stayed? What if she brought her drugs with her? What if she was worse?

We kept Mali in the loop with everything that was going on, and she was grateful we could do something. She wasn't going to show up today because she "Couldn't handle it".  It was a fair statement. "I think I know what I can do to help for now." Hazel, like I said, was always good at solving problems. I seen her texting on her phone, and she looked up at me with good news in her eyes. "Help is on the way." Hazel smiled and set her phone down on the counter, which I just seemed to noticed was also damaged. It must've been hit with a heavy object, because the dent and markings in it couldn't have gotten there otherwise.

Hazel kept trying to get me to talk about everything, and how I was feeling for a good forty five minutes or so, until we saw the door swing itself open.  Luke revealed himself, and stepped in. "Whoah what do we have here? And what did I miss?"
