The two babybones watched in fascination, as Hearth gently turned a tiny fist side orb carefully carving tiny runes in now and then at certain spot.
"Shiny," Karma said in appreciation, as the orb was a rather pretty pale purple color and the runes glowed once completed.
"I guess it is," hearth said amused.
"What is is dad?" Blotched asked curious, he didn't recognize it. Thus was curious, and he and Karma found this more interest then watching the dragonflies in there cases or Fai flying wobbly around the room.
"Its a Golem core," Hearth replied "With so many on the island I can't keep up with everything, and the autofarms and wards can only do so much"
Sure there were only four monsters on the island, but then they had the familiars, the bitties and all the animals. Hearth was getting behind on tasks and less able to do hobbies, he didn't exactly mind but Oneiro couldn't be trusted to cook without it chancing coming alive, Karma was erratic in trying to learn to cook and Blotched was rather tiny and there skills was more push things in microwave and make a sandwich.
"Golem?" Karma asked curious, having no knowledge of what that was.
"A Golem is.. a false monster, instead of a soul they have a core which I'm setting up right now. If you treat them well, more then a tool there core can evolve into a proto soul thus converting the Golem into a true monster. They'd be a new family member," Hearth explained.
"New sibling!" Karma breathed excitedly, his eyes brightening at the thought of another friend.
"What are they going to look like?" Blotched asked curious.
"Since I still have some Goth features, and Karma started as a Goth too I'm making them a Goth Variant. So if something happens, they can act for us. Depending on how a Golem works as they'll help in the keep, I may create a Palette counterpart for taking care of the outside," Hearth grinned.
"How long will it take for them to be born?" Karma asked, already attached to the concept of new sibling and staring in awe at how bright the tiny orb was becoming.
"Since I have most of the things to craft there body a few days, I've created Golems and Golem Cores before usually for others so I know all the shortcuts," Hearth answered happy they were taking it well, he hoped Oneiro would also. Very likely though, as there new friend was going to take care of the library.
"Do they have a name yet?" Karma eyed the tiny orb like he might be able to discern all of life's mysteries from it, squinting as if trying to see what they would look like in the end.
"Not yet, I do not name Golems till there bodies are completed. Thus born, so why don't you two start up a list and we'll see if any of the names fit your new sibling once there ready to wake," Hearth suggested, Blotched looked thoughtful.
"Dad, can you tell Karma and I the Golem story!! you published it I think you said," Blotched begged, Hearth felt a bit embarrassed at the mention of the book.
"Storytime?" Karma's attention was caught, pausing in his scribbling of name ideas in a notebook That he grabbed quickly due to sheer excitement.
"There is a story Myth for how Golems came to be, if you want to hear it I'll tell you once Oneiro gets home from visiting Ordeal. I doubt he's seen a copy of the book as its a few eons old," Hearth laughed, his copy was on floor three of the library due to keeping it preserved.
Maybe, it was time to reprint some copies. That strange Doctor had also been interested, specially when he paid Hearth to create a Golem core for him once."We need to come up with more names, Blotch! They need the best name." Karma said adorably seriously, determined to hear the story but sadly dad wasn't coming home until dinner.
