EMILY'S POV
I walked up the stairs nervously, what if Dylan really was here? Luckily he wasn't which I felt relieved about but then I remembered that Joe wasn't either. I also thought back to what the doctor said yesterday, 'Well Emily it seems that you have a condition where you imagine that things are happening which are very bad and it can make you do weird things, it will also make you very paranoid especially if you drink alcohol. I will give you some tablets to keep on top of it, make sure you take them' I couldn't take in what was being said I felt like I had a mental illness which I didn't want to happen when Joe asked me what was wrong I didn't tell him in case he thought that I was strange and decided that it was too much. I couldn't risk it. But when he went I felt so alone.
I decided to watch some TV before inviting my friend over, he was currently at Oxford University and we were really good friends before I moved to Bath because we were Pen Pals. I straightened the cushions then I heard a knock at the door, 'Jack!' I said happily before we hugged, 'I've missed you man!' we both sat down after the hug and caught up which felt so nice to just talk to someone without the editing or videos. 'Fancy a beer?' I asked him and he nodded I didn't get a drink because I now couldn't drink. It felt horrible at first because I really wanted to join in. We decided to order a pizza for tea and Joe must have been really busy because he didn't bother to text. We sat and watched Godzilla and White House Down which were two of my favourite films.
I forgot to take my tablet and so I was become super paranoid, why hadn't Joe text? Was he busy with another girl? I started to panic before Jack noticed and came to calm me down. I pointed to the tablets and he passed them over. Of course now I had to explain, after I had explained though he was really supportive and kind about it all. 'How's the Uni life then?' I asked because I was never able to afford University so I couldn't go. 'Oh its brill yanno, Ladies man and all that' he joked which made me laugh but it did sound like fun. Don't get me wrong my GCSE results were alright, English- B, Maths - A, Science - B but most importantly in my sports/PE - A* I remember getting the results and it made me so happy.
'I hear that its someone's 20th birthday very soon' Jack joked. I laughed then nodded. Oh god where has time gone? 'That's right! No birthday party okay? You know I'm not into all that stuff' He just winked at me and I was a little nervous not going to lie. At 9:30 Jack decided to go, it was so fun to hang out with him I mean its great to spend time with Joe but with Jack it felt like he actually listened. I looked down at my phone and a text came through:
Jack- Thanks for today, poo face it was fun :) x
He always put kisses but that's the type of person that he is.
Emily- No problem you broccoli :P x
He absolutely hated broccoli that's why I called it him. I still hadn't had a text from Joe so I decided to just go to bed. I was slightly angry though...
JACK'S POV
Spending time with your childhood best friend is amazing especially when that person is Emily she could literally light up the darkest of place and would make a brilliant girlfriend for someone one day. She told me about the condition which she has and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her she looked so sad when she told me. I gave her support and a quick hug, we were really close until we stopped e-mailing each other but then she e-mailed me again when she was moving to London, I was super happy.
She was still into her sports and she still looked stunning. It's surprising that we are still best friends though, we dated for a year and a half before I dumped her for a girl at my school. Worst mistake ever, the amount of times that I wanted to kiss her today but then backed away was unreal. I still fancied this girl like crazy but I decided we were better off as friends, for now at least.
EMILY'S POV
I woke up the next day took my pills and went to get breakfast. I wanted a lazy day today so I would stay in my pajamas seeing as no one was seeing me. I shoved my hair up in a messy bun which looked great with my knee high socks and American football t-shirt and sporty shorts. I was sitting down watching a catch up of the Great British Bake Off when my phone started to go off. I paused the TV to see that Joe was trying to face time me. 'Hey!' I said happily when I answered, 'I miss you!' I said sadly. 'Hello, I really miss you too I can't wait for VidCon!' He then said happily. VidCon was tomorrow and I was all packed and ready to go. An hour later we had finished face-timing and I decided to go to Ikea to buy a few extra bits for the apartment. I brought a house plant to liven the place up and I decided to replace the wooden furniture with Oak wood. It took about 2 hours but when I had set everything up it still felt empty. I know! I need a dog to give me company so I never felt alone. I looked online for the perfect dog, I came across pugs, Labradors and even chihuahuas all of those were cute but I fell in love with a little Yorkshire Terrier. It was a puppy meaning that I had to wait a few more days until I could bring it home but I drove straight over to the farm and looked at them all.
I picked out the smallest one because it reminded me of how small Joe was which was strange, it was a girl and the liveliest out of the litter of 5. I knew instantly that this was the one. Now I just needed a name, Lily? No. Hanna? No. Poppy? hmm, maybe it has a nice ring to it. After visiting the farm I went out to buy a dog bed and food basically all of the things that I would need to look after the dog, I was so excited. I brought plenty of treats and toys for her to play with.
