After their classes like Professor Virindi had promised, she was taking both Jasper and Alabaster to St. Mungo's to see Harry. They met her at her office straight after their last class, and once they both arrived, she said they would be using the Floo Network. Alabaster looked nervous, but he didn't say anything about why.
St. Mungo's seemed like a relatively normal hospital in Jasper's eyes when they had first arrived. There were doctors and nurses scurrying around from room to room (of course there was a lot of magic involved), floating pieces of parchment, owls going in back and forth for delivery, it really wasn't as odd as Jasper would have thought until he was brought into the waiting room to see some of the people waiting to be be checked.
There was a woman with three eyes and even though it was sort of off putting, Jasper wondered if maybe that was a normal thing magical wise until another eye started to grow and another...and another. Jasper looked away then to see another wizard that had somehow procured an elephant trunk and was trumpeting every so often and there was another witch who would not stop honking. It was unnerving.
They were handed these visitor badges and the Healer directed them to one of the rooms and Jasper met up with Harry's father who had gotten word that they would be visiting. "Hey, Jasper, how are you?"
"I am alright, how's Harry?"
"He's...getting there," he said. "He is still under a lot of medication so he is a little out of it, but he will be so happy to see you. I will go in and tell him. His mum is just at home picking something up for him, you may catch her later."
Jasper nodded and Harry's dad went into the room and he turned back to the other two, Alabaster slightly hidden by Professor Virindi. It was like he was purposely hiding but Jasper understood why.
Soon, he was allowed in and he looked back to Professor Virindi who encouraged him to go in, saying she would stay with Alabaster, and Jasper looked over to the first year who just nodded.
Jasper entered the room and saw Harry was sitting up in the bed, a book laying across his lap. Harry smiled once he spotted him. "Jasper!"
Jasper gave a small smile, glad that Harry seemed to be happy and chipper despite the fact that he was literally in a hospital bed. Jasper wondered if that was the medications doing as he took a seat on the chair next to the bed. "Hey, how are you feeling?"
"I'm okay...I think," Harry said and Jasper understood what Harry's father meant by him being a little out of it. His eyes seemed more so far off and cloudy, but at least he was talking and not hiding anymore. It was an improvement. "I am a bit tired and I miss everyone. I like seeing my parents all day though. I missed them a lot."
"Well, I am glad you get to see them everyday then," Jasper said. He wished he had parents like his. They were so caring and kind and even Jasper sadly talked to them more than his own parents. "We miss you a lot too. It's weird not having you around mate."
"Really?"
"Yeah! You're our friend and–"
"I miss you guys a lot too," Harry said again. "I'm glad you miss me too...it's been a weird few days..."
"But are you feeling any better?"
"I think so, yeah," Harry finally said after some consideration. "I just wish the Healers would stop giving me potions...they make me so tired..."
Jasper really hoped that the Healers were able to figure out how to stop these apparent hallucinations and that he would not have to be on potions and in St. Mungo's for too long. "Well, I hope you won't need the potions for that much longer and you will be able to go back to Hogwarts."
