"Ready to rock it?"
"Rock it?" Marty's older brother asked. "Really Maryrose?"
Maryrose shrugged, but her eyes were filled with determination. "Yes Brown. Rock it. This is going to be the best game of capture the flag ever."
"The absolute best!" Archie McKinnion shouted.
"YEAH!" Ian yelled.
The first years arrived (along with a few older students that were also invited) after Toby had finished reading his short story about Peaches the owl. Dorothy's little sister had especially loved it, and it had helped open a few of the Hogwarts students' minds about the idea of fiction and how not everything had to be accurate. Thankfully, a good amount of them were talking about how to find a talking animal which Xenophillius had reassured that he would be sure to make that one of his quests.
Now, Pandora split the large group of them into two teams for a game of capture the flag. There were a lot more students than there were in the last game before the break, but there was also a lot more ground to cover. The Jenkins property was decked out by two walls of trees on either side meaning one base could be somewhere in one forest and the other base would be somewhere in the other. It was a whole lot more tricky than the last game, but there were more magical elements included that would help get them across the huge blank field between the two areas.
Brooms.
A little ways across the field you could find a broom on the field that was to be used to help you get across to the other forest and then you would have to go back to the base, wherever it could be. The two teams were allowed to use the field without the fear of being caught to go across to their enemies bases, but once they were in a forest it was all fair game.
Once again there were two teams. The Red Team and the Blue Team just like last time except now there were a whole lot more people added into the bunch. Jeremy, Jessica, Annalee, Carly Shaw and Wendy (who wanted to spend time with her aunt and uncle) had opted out of the game (and Christopher, but he really wasn't outside with anyone at all despite his brother's attempts.)
The Blue Team was: Marty's brother, Felix, Valery, (who was Quinn's sister) Quinn, Maryrose, Amos, Jon, Harry, Toby, Francis, Xeno, Archie, (who was one of Marlene's brothers) Penelope, Anthony, Ian, and Elijah.
The Red Team was: Andy, Dorothy, Edgar, Jasper, Fiona, Ethan, Marty, Gifford, Charlie, Marlene, Emmaline, Pandora, Finley (another one of Marlene's brothers), Padmar, Wyatt, and Willow.
"This is against my sister," Maryrose said. "Mine! So, we have to be incredible. We have to work hard and work together as a team and get that flag! We have to win."
"Is this just about beating your sister?" Penelope asked, an eyebrow raised.
"Yes," Maryrose said, not bothering to lie. "Anyone would want to beat their siblings at a game, right?" She looked over to Marty's brother, Toby, Francis, Felix, Ian, and Jonathan.
"Oh, totally," Ian said and Jonathan agreed.
"It'd be nice to beat my sister," Marty's brother said and Felix nodded.
Toby said, "All I know is that Ethan 100% wants to beat us."
"Exactly!" Maryrose exclaimed. "So, we have to all work together, and Xeno..." Maryrose turned to the fifth year who was getting distracted by something in the trees. "No creature hunting and no trying to help Pandora."
"What makes you say I would ever do that?"
Valery Nakumura giggled. "You're totally in love with her!"
