The next morning when Jasper had woken up, he first was surprised to find that he wasn't staring at the ceiling of his fourposter in the Hufflepuff dormitory, but the ceiling of his bedroom. All the memories from yesterday rushed back into his mind and he slowly sat up with a groan, thinking about what he should do next.

It was a school day, but Jasper thought that it would be better for all his brothers to take a day off, especially since Edgar had still refused to take a potion that would heal up his leg. Jasper hoped he would be able to convince him to take it at some point, but he had bigger and more important matters to discuss with Edgar.

He needed to make his brother understand and love his magic.

He got out of bed and checked to see how his brothers were doing. He first went to Edgar and Francis' room, who were both asleep still. Edgar looked relatively peaceful which was a relief while Francis looked a little discomforted and Jasper wondered if he was having a nightmare.

He decided to check on the two older ones first and would go back to him. Jasper slowly creaked open Toby and Ethan's door to see the both of them completely dead to the world. Their room was a little more messy, papers everywhere (Jasper assumed it was homework) and he saw that Ethan was hugging Twiggy the giraffe tight and Jasper gave a small smile, happy that he had found him as Jasper was sure Twiggy had been lost for good.

He went back to check on Francis who looked a little less distressed, and he decided it would be best to let the four of them sleep. They all needed a good long rest.

Jasper went back to his room, pulled out a piece of paper, grabbed a pencil and started to write a letter to Christopher just like he had promised. His hand hovered over the paper, wondering about how much he should tell. He didn't want to worry him, but he did also have to let him know that he would not be coming back anytime soon, not unless he finished the spell that is.

After around an hour of tossing around ideas in his head, he finally started to write and after another half an hour, he sent it off to Christopher with the help of Peaches, who Jasper did have to admit was a very good owl.

Jasper went out to the kitchen and started to make himself a slice of toast. His mind wandered back to the conversation with his youngest brother. Guilt filled him with the thought that Edgar believed that he was a bad person just because of things he could not control, because of things that he needed help with. If only, Jasper had been less blind to it...

But there was no point in hating on things that could not be undone. Right now, he needed to focus on training Edgar and teaching him what he could. That was the good thing of knowing about magic; he could help his brother who didn't understand it or know how to control it, like it, and be able to learn ahead unlike Jasper could have.

And if Edgar was ready, Jasper hoped that they could start today.

"You're still here."

Jasper turned and saw Toby right at the door of the kitchen. He noticed that he still looked quite tired but some things could never be undone in one night, that took years. "Yeah, of course," Jasper answered. "I told you I wasn't going anywhere."

Toby slowly nodded. "Oh...okay..."

It wasn't that Toby was upset about Jasper being here, he just wasn't expecting him to stay. He thought for sure that Jasper would have left the house as soon as he could have but no, he had stayed.

Of course he had, he was Jasper after all.

Toby didn't know what he was thinking.

"Er, well, it - it is really good to see you," Toby finally said. "I-I missed you."
