"Distance"

Jungkook walked into the house with his daughter in his arms fast asleep. They had quite the eventful day at the beach.

The day before he had taken her for her check up, and the family was glad that everything was fine. And today he had to take her to the beach just like he had promised. Moon had dropped them off and Jungkook insisted that they will take the bus back.

"Appa, you were on a plane?"
"Appa did you miss me?"
"Appa are you happy?"
"Appa, Look, shark!"

Jungkook laughed, "there's no shark baby"

Haneul talked non stop, she told her dad everything that happened at day care and they played until she was tired.

Now back home, she was in dream land in his arms.

Jin walked up to them and took her so he can take her to her bed, Jungkook had to wash up since he was covered in sand.

"Don't you think you should tell him?" Jin asked
"I don't think it's the right time" Jungkook replied

Both his parents gave him the look.

"I will tell him once I know he is staying, I can't introduce him in her life when I don't know how long he will be around. For all I know he has a whole family waiting for him, I heard he was only here for work ,so-" Jungkook explained.

"Okay, whatever you decide, we support you, just keep us in the loop okay" said Joon. "I am sorry for not telling you guys about the gallery sooner, I just thought he-" Jungkook tried to explain. "It's okay, don't worry about it"

Jin prepared dinner for Jungkook to take with since he was going back to his apartment, "Don't stay up to late" his parents said as they bid him goodbye.

Once Jungkook was back at his place, he took out his phone.

"I hope you arrived home safely"- Tae
"Yes, I did, thank you. How about you?"
"I did too, I will let you get some rest. Thank you for flying with me" -Tae
"I should be the one thanking you, first class was really cool"

"typing....."

"Goodnight" Jungkook texted before Taehyung could write back.

He stood in front of the counter still reading the texts.

"Why did I change his name back?" he asked himself. "But then again it's my phone, is not like someone is going to look through it" he said defensively.

He dragged his feet to his room and dropped on the bed. He has work tomorrow and by the end of the week he has to go out of town for his make up project, he also has classes, it was going to quite the busy week. But he was also glad he will be occupied instead of sitting around and thinking about things he would rather not think about.

He got up and started getting his stuff ready for work tomorrow.

"So you are telling me you just decided to leave early" Taehyung's mother asked again, "Mum" he tried to complain.

"Well I mean, this is unlike you, I mean the last time you acted to random was-"
"Mum, no" Taehyung said trying to seem bothered but failing.

"I was done with work, I mean almost done and I missed you" he said flashing his smile at his mum, "okay, I will take that, for now" she walking away.

Taehyung got an earful from Jimin, but he managed to charm his way out of it.

"Did you leave because of him" Jimin asked. Taehyung had hoped Jimin wouldn't know about Jungkook leaving but he also knew it was only a matter of time before he found out.

"Not entirely- I had things to do here" Taehyung tried to explain
"Like what?"
"Well you know, stuff"
"Yeah right"

Taehyung let out a deep breath, "I just wanted to talk to him about something" Taehyung confessed
"And how did it go?"
"Uhm he slept, almost the whole flight" Taehyung said with a chuckle "But it doesn't really matter any more, I am going back anyways so -" he added

"You don't have to" Jimin explained
"I do, there's nothing for me here, plus I have my whole life over there, it's only logical "
'Tae-" Jimin tried to speak
"Don't worry about it" Taehyung said cutting him off before he could say more.

Taehyung left out the part that Jungkook had a child, he didn't want to believe it himself. He had this new family and new people in his life, clearly he had moved on with his life and he had no business meddling in it.

Him and Jimin chatted about other things before they ended the call.

Jungkook walked in the office building after a morning full of classes, and now more work was waiting for him. He walked through the lobby and greeted some people that he passed by. 

He needed to get a drink from the vending machine before going to work when he over heard a group of girls chatting.

"Oh, now I am actually sad" one the girls said with a pout
"o no, why?" the other asked
"It's because the hunk is leaving" the third girl responded

"Noooo, you mean that really hot guy that just got transferred not too long ago" the girl asked in shock
"No, not the hot Kim Tae tae" one of the girls said with actual tears filling her eyes
"I was already picturing how our babies were going to look-"

Jungkook walked away before the girl could continue. 

He felt his moth run and a very uncomfortable ache in his chest. This was good right, at least he didn't introduce him to Haneul, it's not like he had any reason to inform him about what he does in his life.

"This is good, this is fine" he said to himself.

As he was heading to his work station, he spotted Taehyung with someone, it was his cousin, Jimin. They were laughing and joking around.

He found himself staring for a lot longer than he should when he suddenly made eye contact with Taehyung, he quickly turned away and started walking in the opposite direction away from his work station, he was definitely going to be late.

Jimin saw where Taehyung was looking, "you won't even say goodbye?" he asked, "I don't think we are close enough for me to do that, it will probably just come off as weird" he said still looking as Jungkook walk away. Jimin decided not ask more, he knew where the conversation would go.

"So, who's picking you up?" Jimin asked
"Uhm, Jenny, I think she will come with Bogum" Taehyung replied

"And what about?" Jimin asked raising an eye brow, Taehyung scoffed, "I bet you already told her that I am coming back, so, I have that covered" Taehyung replied as he started to walk away.

Taehyung took out his phone, he held it for a second longer  before putting it back in. He figured he will finish up with work before his flight later that day.
