Still falling for you

So close, but yet so far.

Taehyung figured he would have to go out of his way if he wanted to see Jungkook let alone talk to him. But just as fate would have it, it became even more difficult to meet with him after that night.

Days were filled with meetings and trips around the city.

Finally it was Friday and everyone gets to relax and take some time off, being in a foreign city meant almost everyone was going to be doing some tourist activities.

Taehyung made his way to Jungkook's floor in hopes to invite him to join him for lunch later. It was still morning but he was hoping he would be awake.

Arriving at his door, he was about to knock when the door opened and Jackson walked out, almost bumping into him.

"O, Mr. Kim, I am sorry I didn't see you there" Jackson said a bit surprised to have Taehyung right in his face.
"It's my fault, I apologize, Taehyung said taking a step back.

"I came to see Jungkook, is he inside? Taehyung asked
"Yes he is, but he just went to sleep" Jackson replied

Taehyung was about to ask something when Jackson continued, "he not feeling too well, so he decided to stay in today" 
"Is- is serious?" Taehyung asked, trying to hide his concern
"It's not too serious, he will be okay after he rests for some time" Jackson replied.

Taehyung felt odd about lingering  around Jungkook's door, so he decided to excuse himself leaving Jackson behind.

Jackson let out a sigh as he recalled the conversation with Jungkook from before.

"Hyung, be nice" Jungkook said, Jackson scoffed instead.
"I don't like him" he said
"You don't even know him"
"But I know what he did"

Jungkook let out a sigh, " he is still your boss in some way, so play nice"

Jackson decided not to keep the conversation going. There was still a lot that he didn't know about the whole situation, but he knew enough not to keep pushing the conversation.

Now standing outside of Jungkook's room , watching Taehyung walk away. He was so temped to walk up to him and ask him why he wanted to see Jungkook, why was he even here so early in the morning, why was he back?

But Jungkook had enough to deal with already, he didn't want to make it worse.

Last night Jungkook should have known better than to go swimming for that long and at that hour. But it seemed like since he interacted with Taehyung he has been somewhat different. He had made Jackson promise that he wouldn't call his parents, but that was a promise he wouldn't be able to keep. If anything happened to him, he would never be able to forgive himself.

As he walked away from his room, he took out his phone to call Jin.

Jimin took a sip from his drink as he sat opposite his cousin.

"Are you gonna drink that?" he asked
"Earth to Taehyung" he repeated while knocking on the table.

"O yeah" Taehyung said holding his glass.

Who is this Jackson and most importantly why did Taehyung find himself so concerned about him?

"Do you want to talk about him" Jimin asked
"No" came the reply
"Will it affected your work?" 
"No" 

Taehyung emptied his glass and leaned back in his chair. 

"Only a few more days and we will be done" Taehyung said
"Will you come back home with me?" Jimin asked

Taehyung paused for a moment before answering.

"I think mom will start saying I do not love her anymore if I don't " Taehyung said with a small chuckle.

After that they ended up having a talk about work, so far everything was going well. Jimin thought about telling Taehyung about the fact that Jungkook will actually be leaving earlier than everybody else, but figured not to, it seemed  like things weren't going so great between the two of them.

By the time they decided to leave it was quite late.

Back at the hotel, Jimin headed to his room and Taehyung said he needed to get some air so he headed to the pool.

"Appa, I am fine, you will see for yourself in about a day" Jungkook said over the phone.

He was faced the other way, so he didn't see or hear Taehyung.

Suddenly his voice was low and he sounded sad, "I can't sleep" he said letting out a deep breath. "I expected it for the first two days at least, but since we got here, I only get a few hours of sleep and then I am awake till sunrise"

Taehyung felt like he shouldn't be listening, but he couldn't bring himself to leave.

It sounded like he as being comforted by whoever he was on the phone with as he started to cheer up a bit.

"Yes, my flight is tomorrow at 15:25" 

Jungkook's parents have tried to convince him to take the first class, but he was against it.

"First class is lonely, I will be all alone, but at least in business class I can grab the passenger next to me when I get scared" he said with a laugh.

Taehyung ended up staying till Jungkook finished his call.

So he was leaving tomorrow? why? they still had more days to go, should he ask him? Probably not.

He noticed Jungkook getting up from his seat and he had to pretend as if he was just approaching the pool

"O, Tae-, Taehyung" Jungkook said startled
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you" Taehyung said clearing his voice.

"I-"
"I-"
They spoke at the same time.

"You go first" Jungkook said.

"Are you feeling better now?" Taehyung asked. He could tell that Jungkook was somewhat surprised by the question, "uhm, Jackson mention that you were not feeling well earlier today"

"Ooo, uhm, yes, I am feeling better no, thank you" Jungkook replied with a small smile.

They stood in silence for a moment.

"I have to head inside now" Jungkook said.

"I-I heard you are leaving tomorrow" Taehyung said when Jungkook was about to walk away.

"Uhm, yes, I made earlier arrangements to leave early" Jungkook replied.

"That's quite a coincidence, because I am also flying out  tomorrow, at 15:25" Taehyung lied.

Jungkook was surprised to say the least, "really? me too" he exclaimed.

There was no backing out now, Taehyung had to keep his lie going

Hey there, I hope you have enjoyed reading this chapter. It's been hard to keep a consistent schedule lately. I have quite a lot going on.
But one thing is certain, I will make sure to finish this book, I really enjoy writing it, only that this time it will take longer than I expected.
