To be next to you

Jungkook woke up hours later, he had slept almost the whole flight ,it was Taehyung who was now sleeping, he looked at the map on the screen, they had about two hours before they had to land.

"O, you are awake" Taehyung said as he opened his eyes and noticed Jungkook sitting up. "Are you okay, you slept for a really long time" he asked.

"Yes I am fine, I was probably just too tired, I also didn't think I would sleep that long" He said rubbing his eyes.

"Would you like something to eat?" Taehyung asked. But Jungkook was quite a picky eater so he was concerned if he might even like anything.

"I could eat" Jungkook said with a small smile. He had never been in first class before, we looked around trying to find how to signal someone to come, but Taehyung beat him to it as he said "I got it".

A few minutes later, a flight attendant walked up to them, and asked what they needed. 

Jungkook asked for a fruit bowl and a glass of juice, Taehyung got some pasta.

"We are landing a bit late, is there someone picking you up?" Taehyung asked
"Uhm, yes, my parents will be at the airport waiting"

"Uhm your parents, if you don't mind me asking, how did that happen?" Taehyung asked
"O, uhm my dad, the professor , kind of adopted me about a year after high school, and my other dad came into the picture not long after that"

He paused

"It all happened so fast, uhm, you actually met my other dad, he- he was or rather is my doctor"

"The one from high school?" Taehyung asked, very surprised.

"Yes, and my other dad was the one who-" Jungkook stopped himself. "I just got really lucky , they are really amazing people" he said.

He stopped himself from telling Taehyung everything, it didn't matter and he probably wasn't interested in his whole life story.

"That's quite the turn of events, I remember Dr. Kim, not sure he remembers me" Taehyung said with a small chuckle, " he is a really good doctor I am glad you found a good family" 

Taehyung found himself more and more curious about the other's life, but he didn't want to ask too many questions because it was clear Jungkook didn't want to say more.

"And what about you, do you have someone picking you up?" Jungkook asked changing the subject.
"Yes, there will be a car waiting"
"O that's good"

Then silence, only awkward nods and hums

Jungkook made himself busy by looking through the screen in front of him, hoping to find something to watch.

They both gave out a sigh of relief when the flight attendant returned with their food. After getting their food, Taehyung also decided to look for something to watch.

For some time they ate their meals and watched their shows.

Jungkook was also texting with his parents, Haneul has been asking about him every day,  he had to assure then that he was fine, even though he slept for nine hours straight, which wasn't very normal for him.

Time seemed to go by fast and neither could decide if that was a good thing or not, they would go their separate ways and only meet at work , but that's not even likely since they don't directly work together.

The pilot announced that they were going to start descending and everyone should put on their seat belts.

Jungkook didn't like how he felt during take off and landing, he felt sick. He braced himself by repeatedly taking deep breaths.

Taehyung took his hand in his like he did at take off, "I don't like landings too" he lied. Jungkook gave a nervous smile.

After they landed, Taehyung told Jungkook to seat while he went to get his suitcase, and it didn't take long for him to get it.

Before going back, Taehyung stopped by a store to pick up some water for Jungkook.

He found him curiously looking around as though his bambi eyes were trying to take in everything. He slowly walked up to him.

"Here" he said handing him the water, "O thank you so much , I really needed one" he said as he opened the bottle.

Soon after, they started walking to the exit, Taehyung had insisted on carrying Jungkook's suitcase.

"Appa!!" 

Jungkook could recognize that voice anywhere, he looked around and spotted Haneul  with his parents, "Baby" he said as he hurried towards her.

She was carrying flowers that seemed to big for her, she tried to run but couldn't really get far, Jungkook got to her first and spun her around.

"Appa, I missed you"
"I missed you too princess" he said as he kissed her all over her face.

"I-I got you flowers appa, look" she said trying to show the flowers. His parents came over and hugged him. 

Namjoon stepped away once he noticed Taehyung standing a small distance away from them. "Hello" Namjoon said extending him arm towards Taehyung.

He recognized him, he had only seen pictures that Jungkook showed them,  he was much younger at the time but it was still him.

"You flew in with Jungkook right?" he asked,
"yes- yes sir, good evening- sir" he said with a stutter.
"Thank you so much, this was his first international flight so, thank you" Namjoon said
"It was no problem at all" Taehyung replied.

Soekjin walked over to greet Taehyung as well. Earlier Jungkook had whispered to him not to ask anything.

"We could drop you off" Soekjin offered, "Thank you, but I have a car waiting outside" He said as he handed over Jungkook's bag.

In the few minutes they had been there, Haneul had fallen asleep in Jungkook's arms before Taehyung could greet her.

"We had to wake her up right before you landed, she's such a sleepy girl" Soekjin explained.

"Thank you" Jungkook said

"I should get going, the car is waiting" Taehyung explained, he didn't want to keep Jungkook and his family standing in the airport, and he didn't know what else to say.

He said his goodbyes and headed to the exit. Jungkook would have wanted him to stay longer, but he didn't know what else to say, and his parents definitely have questions.

He watched Taehyung walk away before turning to face his parents, "I will explain in the car" he said.

The drive home was quite, Jungkook found himself actually dozing off, "the flight really drained you ey" Namjoon commented, "I slept so much  I didn't think I would be tired at all" Jungkook said leaning back in his seat, his parents chuckled. Cleary all their questions would have to wait.
