I. Safer This Way.

     

     IT HAS only been a day. A day since Groff stole the crown from them, and killed JJ. Only a day had passed since they came up with the plan of getting revenge for JJ. Jake was sitting by himself further up from the rest of everyone else, staring down at his lap.

He still remembers that first day that he met JJ. He was running down the hall, in a hurry to not be late and get in trouble. When he rounded the corner, he slammed into another boy who laughed at first. "Shit! I'm so sorry." The blond boy pulled him up to his feet, as the brunet boy blinked, raising his brows at JJ.

"I'm so sorry... I'm late to class, so I had to run..." He apologized shyly and JJ laughs. "It's no sweat. Just watch where you're going next time, yeah?" He walked around Jake who watched him the whole time. "I'm JJ by the way," he saluted, "see ya around!" He said, smiling widely as he walked away and Jake didn't even get a chance to say what his name was. He wasn't able to at least, with the rush he was in, not until the next time he saw JJ, who walked up to ask him for his name, and then invited him to join him and his friends. Jake had been replaying it in his mind all night and morning.

Jake checked the ammo in the gun, the one he had taken from Pope and Cleo, the mag was still full so he insert it back into the pistol before raising it, closing one eye. He sat up on the highest rock by himself, staring down at the gun in his hands when Rafe called out to them all, "alright, it's time. We gotta go."

Jake looked over at the others before getting up to climb down, "hey." Kie said when he reached her and he looked up at his girl. "Hey..." He said quietly, slipping his hand into hers and she gave his hand a small squeeze before they followed after their best friends, and Rafe.

When they got back to town to meet with the man that'd be smuggling them over to Europe, the group all waited outside for Kie who said she'll go and talk to him, and demanded for the money which Rafe eventually reluctantly gave her. They waited around patiently and Jake kept glancing over his shoulder, over to the building that his girlfriend went inside of.

When Kie finally walked out, the group all gathered around together, "so, you got us on our way to Lisbon?" Cleo asked as Kie approached them, looking to the Anderson girl. "Tonight. They'll get us across to Spain, and we'll make our way from there." She told the group, looking around at them all. "Okay. How much of my, uh, money did you spend?" Rafe asked after pacing back and forth, stopping.

"Six each." Kie answered him as the Cameron held up his hands. "Six each?" He repeated her words. "It's a little steep." John B quips. "I remember them saying three." Rafe gestured towards the building before coming down the little steps. "That's almost all the cash, okay? I'm trying to get my money back. Not to waste more of it. Do you understand that?" Rafe came face to face with Kie which made Jake step in, standing between his girl and the Kook. "I think you need to understand that you have to step the fuck back." He told the older.

"Do you realize if this plan doesn't work, we're stranded here now?" Rafe shoved him so the other Pogues all stepped in, yelling at him. "Do you want the crown or not?" Jake asked him angrily. "Yeah! Of course I want the crown. What are you talking about?" Rafe made a face, now keeping his distance from him and Kiara who had her hand protectively holding her boyfriend's arm. "Things are moving. Groff said he already has a buyer." Kie backed up Jake who nods, "we don't have time to haggle. Not everything's about money, Rafe." The Lennox says.

"Okay, maybe not to you, okay?" Rafe gestured towards him and Jake rolled his eyes. "We find Groff and we kill him. That's the plan." He stated before looking away, walking off as Kie was quick to follow after him, holding his hand. "You okay?" She asked quietly and he just nods, moving his arm to put it around her.

Later when the group arrived to the beach at the time they were told to, watching the scene unfold before them, women boarding one of the boats, and men boarding the other. "What is this shit, Kie?" John B asked the Carrera girl walking down the stairs, both her and Jake leading the group. "I guess the cruise ship was booked." Sarah quips. "It's the fastest way to get across." Kie told the rest of the group right away.

"You sure we should do this?" Cleo asked her and the Carrera looked back at her. "Groff's buyer's in Lisbon. We don't have passports. This is the only way." She said and Jake nods his head. "We're here already anyway." He told them, shrugging his shoulders as they got closer to the bottom. "Exactly. Deal's done. It's done." Rafe agreed with him and he rolls his eyes.

"I see the guys." Kie told them, glancing back at them, "I'll talk to them." She said and the Lennox gave her a little nod before the Carrera walked away, towards the man. Jake watched his girlfriend carefully as Kie spoke to the man, before the group made their way over. "The women. Yeah. Here! The rest, over here." The man said, gesturing to each boats. "Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, woah! No, we are not splitting up, alright?" John B exclaimed as Jake went over to his girl's side.

"This is not TSA, monsieur." The man told him. "Sometimes the men who cross have incentives. See, it's better not to tempt." He explained. "No." Jake denied instantly, "we're staying together." He grabbed onto Kie's arm gently as the Carrera turned to him. "Jake, it's okay. Listen to me." She said quietly and he looks at her. "Give me the gun. If anything happens, I'll handle it." She told him and he shakes his head. "We just have to get across." The Carrera said, grabbing her boyfriend's face in her hands.

"No. I don't like this." Pope said, not far from where they stood. "You can be together when we land at Getares." The man called out to him. "Yeah, I get it. Alright?" John B told him, holding up a hand and Jake sighed. "Safer this way." He insisted and the Lennox brings his girlfriend into his arms as she reached for the gun, swiftly putting it away into her waistband. "I love you." She whispers to him.

"I love you too..."

After Kie went over to board with Sarah and Cleo, Jake followed after Rafe, John B and Pope. "Touch me again, you piece of shit! Touch me again, see what happens!" Rafe got angry at the man pushing him, "hey!" John B exclaims as the man got held back by one of the other workers. Pope and Jake got shoved along, "hey!" The Heyward exclaimed before he and the other three men got on board.

this first chapter for part five is not that long but yk, i decided to leave it at there and start the 2k+ long chapters in the next one. but yayyy, jake and kie are back!! i'm so excited especially with their storyline this season

+ here's the first chapter of part 5! i've already written up to chapter 6 so i was like okay i need to start updating it today lolz
