Chapter Thirty-Eight
I had tried so hard to resist. I knew I didn’t have time for what happened last night... again, but when it came to Zeke it was hopeless. I was woken by the sound of my phone ringing from my jeans, which were somewhere, on the floor, next to me on the ground.... I think. I groaned and turned in Zeke’s arms, the phone had woke him up to, but I made no movement to answer it.
“Alex, your phone is ringing,” Zeke groaned slightly, still tired.
“Hmm,” was my only response.
I heard him groan again and then I heard the sound of the covers move and then felt him lean across over me. I opened my eyes to see him leaning over me, and getting my phone out of my jeans pocket. He looked at the screen as it stopped ringing and then moved back over and held it near my head.
“Harriet,” he said. “Is there a reason she’s calling you at ten in the morning?”
“It’s ten?!” I yelled, sitting up.“Yep,” Zeke nodded, still lying down.
“Crap,” I muttered.
I jumped out of bed and then scrambled around of my clothes. After only managing to put my underwear and bra back on, did my phone start to ring. I ran back over to Zeke, who still had the phone and for a second I thought he wasn’t going to give it to me and just stare at me, but then he handed it to me.
“Hey,” I breathed into the phone.
“Where are you?” Harriet almost yelled at me. “You’re late, and Claire is freaking.”
“I know, I know,” I sighed. “I just woke up, I’ll be there in like fifteen minutes, I promise.”
“Okay, but it’s not my fault when Claire kills you,” Harriet said.
“I know, see ya,” I said, then hanging up the phone and chucking it back at Zeke.
I had thought ahead, in case I couldn’t control myself and had brought my bag with a spare change of clothes. I pulled them out and got dressed as fast as I could.
“What is going on?” Zeke asked me.
“I have to go dress shopping today,” I told him, struggling with my skinny jeans. “It’s all for Claire’s wedding. She needs her dress and we need our bride’s maid’s dresses, so I kind of have to be there.”
“And you decided to stay with me last night?” he asked, in slightly sarcastic tone.
“You forced me,” I frowned at him, fixing my hair.
“I wanted you to come last night, we didn’t have to have sex,” he said.
I turned back to him and frowned. I’m strange, I know this, and I don’t usually like when Zeke says that we had ‘sex’. It just makes me feel weird, even though that’s what I did do.
“Sorry,” he muttered, sliding back into the bed and holding my phone in his hand.
“I’m not mad at you for saying it... its just weird,” I shrugged, chucking my other clothes back in my bag.
“You’re the only one who thinks it’s weird, Alex,” he told me.
I rolled my eyes slightly and grabbed my bag, and then sat next to him on the bed. I held out my hand and he handed me my phone and as I pocketed it he wrapped his arms around me.
