She pushed the cart down the aisles quickly and paid for the groceries. She hopped on a bus went back into the loft. It was early. It was barely 7, but they needed food and it was less risky if she went alone. She had kept an eye behind her and no one had followed her. She put the groceries away and looked at the calendar. They had been here for 7 weeks now. The date caught her eye. April 9th (a/n haha actually its march 9th. @ me and my memory haha fuck). It was Suga's birthday today. She smiled and pulled out some bacon and made pancakes.
As she cooked she tried to remember what he had said a few nights ago. Right after their incident. She could only recall bits and pieces of it. It ran away from her each time she almost remembered. She cried out as a sudden, intense wave of pain coursed through her head. Wait, didn't he say something about headaches? Or maybe stomachaches? She pressed a hand to her forehead and continued cooking.
She pushed open their bedroom door silently and set the tray down on the bedside table. She adjusted a picture she had grabbed of the two of them and shook Suga gently. He groaned softly and opened his eyes. She grabbed the tray and he rolled over, eyes barely open.
"Happy Birthday." She smiled. He looked at the tray in her hands and sat up groggily.
"Is it really my birthday?" He yawned and she placed the tray on his lap. He dug into the meal hungrily, and choked on some bacon. She laughed and kissed his forehead as she sat down next to him. He hesitated a moment before finishing his piece of bacon. He pushed the tray onto her lap,
"Have some." He offered.
"It's for you. It's your birthday." She insisted, chuckling.
"You need to eat." He sighed and rubbed his eyes.
"I'm not hungry." She murmured stubbornly.
"You're so stubborn. Please, eat." He pleaded.
"I'm not hungry." She insisted, pushed the tray back on his lap and standing up.
"Where are you going?" He asked. She grabbed her jacket,
"Out."
She sat down on the bench and her breath puffed out around her face. The cool, crisp air nipped at her nose and she shivered slightly. She needed to get Suga a present. She was slightly irritated with him. Why couldn't he just eat the food? She was fine, she just wasn't hungry. She stood and went to go browse the shops, when she bumped into someone.
"I'm so-" She stopped in shock.
"N-Nari." J-Hope stuttered.
"What are you doing?" She asked suspiciously.
"Nothing. I just-I needed to get away from everyone." He mumbled.
"Everyday?" She looked at him sternly.
"It's just so sad. I can't stand it." He shrugged and looked away shamefully. She shook her head,
"It's fine. Help me find a present for Suga." She hooked her arm through his and they walked down the street.
She could not find anything Suga would like. Not one thing. Neither could J-Hope. They walked down the streets aimlessly and in silence.
"I'm sorry I leave you guys. I just don't like...the atmosphere." J-Hope murmured slowly.
"You don't like being sad." She nodded.
"Yeah." He breathed.
"No one likes being sad. It just comes with the territory. You have to suck it up. Everyone has a job. And I think yours is to keep everyone else happy. So I think you should try and stay with them. I can't help them. I'm not close enough with them. I don't know what you know. Jimin's trying, but he needs some help. So I think you should go home." The words tumbled out of her mouth. She just needed to say it. J-Hope tensed beside her,
"I'm sorry. I just, I don't know what to do. V always kept me in check, now he's gone..." J-Hope trailed off and looked away.
"Come here." She sighed and hugged him gently. He shook slightly and cried. She rubbed his back and pulled away slowly.
"Go home." She whispered. He nodded and rubbed his eyes like a child. He waved half-heartedly and walked back to the loft. She watched him go before turning back and walking down the street.
She still had a present to buy.
