"Cmon." She led him down the street to the bus stop.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"Somewhere." She giggled.
"Why do I have to hold the backpack?" He whined.
"Because I said so." She laughed. He grumbled and they caught a bus. She got off where they had left almost a year ago.
"Why are we here?" He asked slightly suspicious.
"Because." She shrugged and pulled him down to their beach. She grabbed the backpack and laid down a blanket.
"Sit." She ordered. He sat down beside her and looked at her.
"Well?"
"Lay down." She laughed, laying down beside him.
"What?" He asked. She pointed to the sky.
"The stars." She hissed.
"Oh." He nodded and looked towards the sky. It really had been too long. He was starting to lose that sparkle he always had. His ability to make ordinary things amazing. He was forgetting about the stars because clouds had covered them for so long.
It really had been a long time. Almost a year. She wondered how her family was doing. How her mom was doing. How her sister was. She had cut herself off from everything she knew. Just to be with him. Everyone around her wondered if it was worth it, but it was to her. She had no doubts about it. She needed him and that was that. But she wondered if he would ever be the same. He had changed so much. He wasn't the sweet, blushing little boy she remembered. He was strong, but he still loved her, so did it really matter? Just to hold his hand was enough for her. As long as she knew he was right there beside her, she could live happily. It didn't really matter what was going on or where they were.
"I miss this." He murmured. She nodded and laced her fingers between his.
"Me too." She sighed, "Me too."
The stars shone clearly through the cold, dark sky. Crisp, and fresh. She wondered if he was ready for this. He could die. They all could die. But it was worth it right? To keep Misook from getting hurt again. To let J-Hope and Jungkook live the lives they were supposed to. To set Rapmon free. So she could live with Suga, in peace. He wanted her to have a normal life. All the privileges a normal girl got. But she didn't want that, she just wanted him, but if it made him happy then...so be it. She wouldn't mind having a picket fence. Having little kids run along beside her. Have a ring around her finger. But she didn't need it. He needed it. He wanted it. He wanted to make up for the lives his siblings never got. The proper childhood none of them had ever received. That was just like him too. Trying to make everything right again. Trying to make everybody happy.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"Whaddya mean?" He asked.
"Like in life." She murmured. He thought about it for a moment.
"I want this to be over." He decided.
"Anything else?" She asked, looking over at him.
"I don't know." He shrugged.
"I mean like normal stuff. Like how many kids do you want, things like that." She explained. He thought for a long time, and when he spoke, he spoke hesitantly.
"I want 3 kids. One for my brother, one for my sister, and one for your sister. I guess...2 girls, 1 boy. I want them to have a dog, someone they can play with. I want a nice house, like my old one. And, I want you to share it with me." He murmured, turning to face her. She smiled imagining it. Imagining him as a father, imagining him healthy and strong.
"How about you?" He asked. She turned back to the stars and thought for a moment.
"I want 2 kids. 2 boys or 2 girls. And I want you to carry them on your shoulders around our house. And I want to cook dinner for us in a big kitchen, and I want to sit on our big couch and fall asleep together." She whispered, "And I want to be a social worker."
"Why a social worker?" He chuckled.
"So I can help other people." She scooted closer to him, "What do you want to be?"
"I wanted to be a fireman. I guess now, I want to be...a photographer." He smiled as he said it.
"Why a photographer?" She asked softly.
"So I can capture the stars, and the sunset, and the ocean, and you." He pulled her into his arms.
"You don't need to capture me, you've pretty much got me." She laughed.
"No. I want to capture those moments where you're just tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, or sleeping, or being stupid. Just so I can remember every part of your face." He explained. Happy tears welled in her eyes.
"I want all of that." She whispered.
"A normal life." He chuckled.
"No. A life with you." She murmured. He hugged her tightly. And buried his lips in her hair. That's what she wanted. She had what she needed, a home. Now she wanted a life with him, so she could live in that home. She didn't want a normal life like he thought. She didn't just want him like she though.
She wanted something in between.
