It is horrid that even in 2015, the year where the United States granted same sex marriage throughout the nation, that couples in this category are still badly stereotyped in a lot of popular culture.  The biggest cliche for these poor bullied peoples is having an author create a same sex couple for the heck of it, and not even give them importance in the story.  We live in a time where the female movement is growing stronger and more risk can be allowed in a lot of story lines, so why can't a same sex couple have importance in a story.  I am not saying to create same sex couples for all stories, but at least show some representation of the social group.  I feel it is fair, considering the pain these poor people still go through.
