Brought to you by Knuckles' new tough but dumb personality in Sonic Boom. Also, brought to you by pretty much anyone with muscles in cartoons or regular TV shows. I do admit I love Knuckles from Sonic Boom, but his personality on it is so cliche. Like most tough guys that suffer from this trope, he is a complete buffoon, who needs guidance from his friends in order to function in life. It is like making the father in any show dumb. It makes men look dumb and is completely overused. Sure you could counter the stereotype by adding on more personality traits, such as is the case with Knuckles loving nature, but maybe it is better off to ditch this trope whenever you can.
