In how many stories have all Queens been depicted as soulless, vain, overpowering people? If your answer was in almost every story, you would be right. For some strange reason, every story has to have an evil female ruler, in which the male protagonist must either exile or kill to regain peace to the land. It has become a cringeworthy cliche, which in my opinion really needs to go. From what I've seen in real human history, not all Queens were evil and heartless. For example, we have Queen Elizabeth who brought peace to England during her reign during the hundred year Western Renaissance. Besides, stories are now better remembered if the Queen was nice, such as is the case with Queen Elisa from Frozen. This cliche definitely should be avoided as much as possible if you want your work to stand out or not be dated, as stated earlier.
