Okay people, just because cats don't smother you as much as dogs, it doesn't mean they are bad pets. In fact, they can be just as loving as dogs, if not sometimes a better choice of a pet. Like dogs, cats process their thoughts much like humans, building relationships slow but steady. They are just a little more stubborn in general. Cats aren't going to play fetch because they choose not to do so. The same logic applies to tricks, allowing to be pet, and creating a good relationship with their humans. This doesn't make them stupid at all. Calling a cat stupid is an old cliche that is better off not existing.
You may be wondering why I believe this. Well, it is because I have lived my entire life with cats. Currently, I have three beautiful toms in my household, each very affectionate and quite smart from personal observation. I've met dogs before and I can clearly see they are just as smart as cats. I'm both a cat person and a dog person. Therefore, I hold the belief these pets can have similar if not the same mind processing skills as humans. It is time to represent both pets equally in media and end the general idea that cats are just lazy fur balls.
