So many writers these days use a certain plot formula for their works, which can work in one of two ways. The first is that it helps to create a platform for the story's structure and can be varied enough to keep everything fresh. The second is that it becomes a cringeworthy cliche, where the same story is told over and over again in the same franchise. Reusing the same ideas for a story is a cheap way for authors to milk out their product, despite its low quality. No one wants the same story told to them twice in two products of the same media. That is why there should be some variation in plot formulas, so you can still surprise the audience and stay fresh in their minds.
