Betrayal is a poisoned knife. It's not a knife in the back, rather a stab to the neck. A proper betrayal is not a wound, but a painful death. One does not simply get the satisfaction of instant death with betrayal. Instead, one has a shock to numb the pain and then has to spend hours in excruciating agony, staving off by choking on their own blood. Yet, despite the pain it is unexpected and sudden. The perpetrator behind such an act can never be expected. That is why it is a poison, for it hurts doubly when one learns that everything they knew was an illusion of fools.
