~CAITLIN'S POV~
"For you m'lady," he opens the door for me as I nod in thanks and walk through into the blistering cold. I'm surprisingly thankful it's so cold out here, maybe that'll help disguise the physical signs of my nervousness. I still don't know how to act around him.
"So, where are the hot posts here in good old Richmond?" I ask once we've both made our way out the door.
"You'll have to wait and see," he replies, looking like there's more he wants to say. "Also it's going to take me a few moments to remember where everything is," he admits, making me laugh. "I only flew in yesterday and I haven't been home in what feels like years," he chuckles.
"Understandable, you guys were on the road for quite some time weren't you?" I wrap my arms around my body, following Harry as we walk along the footpath side by side. He raises his hoodie above his head and pulls down his beanie further. My guess to try to hide his identity while he walks down an open street with a mystery girl. I can only imagine the headlines that would start.
"That we were, so many countries, so many days. Anyway, tell me about yourself Caitlin."
I go to open my mouth but come up short, unsure where to start with a question like that. "Hmm, that's a hard question to answer when you're not thinking about it," I laugh unsettlingly. "What would you like to hear?" I look up at him to find him already looking down at me with a wide grin across his lips. He looks so different up close, his features soft, a welcoming feel to his gaze.
"Are you still eating dirt these days? I seem to remember coming out of my curious stage at 6, while you were.... still experimenting." The thick sarcasm in his tone forms a huge smirk on my lips, as a laugh escapes my mouth, imagining us as children playing together in the sandpit. The thought itself seeming so surreal.
"Not the last time I checked, no," I give him an amused look as he continues to smile down at me. I feel so sheepish looking up at him with what I can imagine is the most cheesiest grin on my face.
"Well I mean that's good to hear, I've heard it doesn't hold too much nutritional value. But if you're still secretly a little interested, this is the perfect place," he gestures, continuing with the amusing act. I follow the nod of his head and look up to find us walking towards a beautifully green park.
Little wooden benches scatter the area, as a brown brick path mazes through the trees and encircles a large stone fountain. It's water crystal blue and patterned with green tiles.
"This looks so lovely," I comment.
"Yeah it is, I come here once and a while to get away from everything and just take a breather you know," he looks down at me to understand, and I not sympathetically.
"Oh I definitely do, though not in the way I guess you would feel," I comment making us both smile. He finds a park bench and sits down, tapping the empty space next to him with his hand, gesturing for me to sit next to him.
I sit down awkwardly and blow a puff of air as I watch the white mist float away in the cold. I really should have worn more appropriate clothing.
I notice Harry's gaze on me as I shiver, and realise the last thing I want is for him to offer me a jacket or some sort of warming gesture, that would only add to the awkwardness I'm feeling right now. "I apologise for my..." I search for the right word, "awkwardness," I laugh and he smirks at me with the nod of his head. "Still a little unsure how to act around the Harry Styles," I mock, plastering a smirk on my lips to mimic his.
