"Late again Miss Leung?"
"Sorry Miss Frosh. I got lost."
"Yesterday, may initiation. Ngayon naman naligaw ka. Seriously Miss Leung, hindi mo ba ako pinaglololoko?"
Harmony shakes her head. "Miss, hindi po! I really got lost. Ang laki po kasi ng school."
Everybody laughs. Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit sila tumawa, wala naman nakakatawa.
"SILENCE!" Miss Frosh shouted and automatically, the noise stopped.
"This will be the last time you'll be late in my class. If you think because my subject is Disaster Management, and it's fine if you don't attend then you're gravely mistaken. Am I clear?"
Harmony nods her head and was about to walk towards her seat when Miss Frosh stopped her. "Are you still not familiar here?"
Again, she nods her head. Miss Frosh sighed and called me. Naging alerto ako bigla.
"Ramjee, would you be so kind and tour Miss Leung? You're excused in my class."
"Yes, Miss."
The academy is huge. This is a very tiring yet useless task. Why is it always me who do this kind of errands? May ibang classmates pa naman ako. Tuwang tuwa sa akin ganon?
"Madaya. Dapat pala nag volunteer na lang ako. Ayoko na sa class ni Ms. Frosh. Common sense lang naman papaganahin mo dito." Nixon murmured. Sinaway ko siya dahil baka marinig ni Ms. Frosh. She doesn't want to hear that kind of comment regarding her class. Even if it's true.
"You can still volunteer."
"On a second thought, never mind. Nakatamad maglakad sa buong academy. I rather sleep in class."
"Hope you fail the next quiz."
"Nah. Kahit matulog ako, kaya kong i-perfect mga exams. Good luck sayo. Mamimiss mo ang discussion. Hope you don't fail the quiz next time, Ms. Always Second Placer."
I gritted my teeth because of what he said. It's still early but he's annoying me already. Wait until the day I beat you. You won't hear the end of it.
"Ms. Raskins." Miss Frosh called me again, so I finally stand and motioned for Harmony to follow me. When we're walking down the hall, she broke the silence.
"Hi. Ramjee. Akala ko nung una Ram lang pangalan mo kasi lahat iyon ang tawag sayo. Would you rather be called Ramjee or Ram?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "It's up to you."
"Hmm... Ramjee is rather long, kaya Ram na lang din ang itatawag ko sayo. Ok lang ba?"
"Yeah, sure. Anyway, I hope your familiar with the 3 main buildings here."
