Saved
"What do you want from us?" I hissed as I glared up to the man who had locked me in the back room of a house, Branson hid behind my back as we sat on the bed and the man continued to pace in front of us. I figured I could take him and we could escape, but then again, I didn't know how many other people were gonna be on the other side of the door, not to mention I don't want to put Branson at risk. Suddenly, the most annoying smirk came over the man's face, "It's not what you can do for me, it's what I can do for you."
"What are you talking about?" My face only hardened with every word, irritation filling my voice.
"I saved you."
"Saved me?" I spat with a small chuckle, "I didn't want to be 'saved'"
"You obviously don't know who you are working with?" The man finally stopped his pacing in front of me with his head cocked to the side and amusement overwhelming his eyes as if he knew a secret I defiantly didn't.
"What are you talking about?" I restated much slower.
"Jason knows your father, quite well actually. He killed him."
My heart sank, "You're lying," I grunted. Deep inside however, I knew he wasn't. I might not be a good liar but I'm good enough to indicate if someone else is lying and he was most certainly not. Jason, the guy I had all these feelings for that could make me smile in the blink of an eyes is also this horrible monster who took out my father as if he was just another mission. So many thoughts crossed my mind, along with a long list of profanities. I shouldn't have cared so much, but I did.
Even though I never knew the man, he was family. He was my blood. Jason shed my own blood and felt no remorse. Even better, afterwards he still took me in as if he had no idea he killed my father. With every thought, my heart sank lower. The man stationed in front of me shoved his hands in to his front pockets, "Not prince charming after all, huh?"
"Shut up," I rolled my eyes, mostly to hid the tears that were forming.
I didn't look back up until I was sure the door had shut and I was left alone to drown in my own thoughts, well with Branson. "What's happening sissy?" He asked hiding his face into my back. I shook my head lightly, "Take a nap buddy, it's fine, I'll handle it." Within minutes, the kid was out and now I was really alone. Where was I gonna go? Going back to Jason was no longer an option, any feelings I had once experienced for him were vanished by now. However, I wasn't too keen on staying here either, but as long as it kept me as far away from Jason as possible, it would be worth it.

I was aloud out of the room only to meet in the dining room at promptly six to eat dinner then I would be sent back up to jail until breakfast; however, this dining experience was much different than the rest.
"Where you the ones who tried to kill my brother?"
The man across from me appeared puzzled, "No," He swallowed hard.
I believed him.
"What's your name?"
"Jonathan," The man nodded towards my food as if to tell me I was asking too many questions and to just eat.
Ignoring the gesture I continued, "I want to help you."
