Someones waiting for you
"Jason," Serena's hand patted against my left shoulder as she attempted to lighten the mood. I wasn't having it. The beeping, why did it stop? I refused to even let myself question if Paisley's life ended along with the beeps. No. They said she would wake up any day, this wasn't the end and I knew it. Once I told everyone in the waiting room of my experience, sobs broke out all around. However, none were from me, myself. A part of me still believed she was here.
Suddenly the doctor's presence caught everyone off guard when the door swung opened and was propped with the toe of his foot, "Everyone here for Paisley James?" He announced before glancing up from the clip board in his hand and his eyes fell upon us. We hadn't left in days. Almost a week even, that's how long she's been out. I was the first to the man with an emotionless expression, "Yes?" He nodded before letting a minor smile play against the lower portion of his face. What in the hell did this man have to smile about? "Are you Jason?" The man went on.
I shrugged before settling my eyes to the ground and nodding, "That's me."
"Someone's been waiting for you."
