Multiples
Jason's face was buried deep into the palms of his hands, his elbows pressed against the top of his knees, as he was sitting on the ground and leaning against the white walls of the hospital. He couldn't manage to wrap his mind around the idea of the love of his life being so close to death, but he also couldn't imagine the fact that she was carrying his child. Mentally, he was kicking himself in the side for not realizing sooner. She showed all the signs, and usually he would have picked up on something like this so simply. Especially because Paisley was such a horrible liar, but for some reason, he happened to miss everything that hinted at the pregnancy.
In the situation, he also found himself to be angry with Paisley. He was mad to the point of shaking. How could she keep something like this from him for two months? Why didn't she tell him when she had several chances? A constant war was taking place in his mind when a small voice fired the last shot, and the battle died out. "Jason?" His head craned upwards to the opened door way that was letting in a chilling breeze from the west wing of the hospital. Once he noticed it was only Haley, he glared back to the ground and avoided the girl completely. Seeing she was not getting anything in response, she took it upon herself to slide down the wall next to the boy. Her own arms soon wrapped around her knees as she laid her cheek to her knee cap, facing him, "You have to talk to someone, Jason." It was honest, he hadn't spoken in two days, ever since that officer left and the doctor told him Paisley was carrying his child. "That someone doesn't have to be you," He huffed back, only staring to the floor. The girl seated next to him sighed and leaned her head back to rest on the grimy wall, "I wanted to tell you," She whispered.
"Yeah, and why didn't you?" He spat back, not caring enough to take his eyes from the floor. He eventually became so lost in it, he noticed each individual freckle against the pale tinted tile. "She didn't want you to know," Haley's voice was so soft, it could barely be heard. Despite her gentle voice, Jason only became angrier. His eyes finally shifted from the ground and shot straight at the girl next to him, "And why the fuck not? What? Is it not mine or something?" Jason knew he was only acting childish. He knew Paisley would never do something like that to him, yet it was the only thing that came to his mind. Other than that reason, he couldn't come up with an answer for why Pais couldn't just tell him the truth. "Of course not!" Haley's voice was defensive as she took the side of her best friend who at the moment couldn't defend herself, "You know that," The girl finished off in a rather irritated tone.

Beep. Beep. Bee-- "Motherfuck," I mentally cursed in my head. Not being able to express my thoughts at all was only becoming more and more frustrating. I wanted more than anything to stand up and rip the machine from the wall, to end the beeping all together. I wonder how many days I have been laying here, how many more days I would be laying here. Jason hasn't come to visit me in the longest time. Days it felt like. However, I wasn't sure due to the fact I couldn't even open my eyes to see the sunrise or fall. I wish he was here, but I'm sure he has a good reason on why he's not. Beep. Bee-- Holy shit.
The door opened, a sound I had become frequently used to, and just as the foot steps came closer I began to wonder who it could be. The humming of a usual song escaped through who I'm assuming to be a female body, I knew then it was my nurse. She would talk to me at every stop she made, as if I could hear her. Which I could-- But she didn't know that. Anyone else who entered the room would have thought she was just talking to herself because never once did I have the strength to reply. "Good morning, Miss. James." Her chirpy voice rang through my ears. My mouth attempted to pry itself opened, but failed miserably, leaving me to once again, not reply. My eyes were still shut so I couldn't see anything either. This entire situation was past the point of annoying. "I have good news for you today," The lady continued even though she heard no response from my seemingly life less body, "You're babies are perfectly fine."
Mentally I was smiling from ear to ear, yet I knew that wasn't the physical case. Then it hit me, babies? As in more than one? Twins? Triplets? Oh Jesus, Jason doesn't even know about one, how in the hell am I supposed to explain multiple.
