Runaway Bride

I found myself pounding my fists continuously against Haley's door. Sudden it flung opened with a gust of wind revealing not Haley, but instead Beau. His some what normal expression completely altered to disgust at the sight of me. He crossed his arms over his chest and puffed it out, "What do you want McCann?" I shook off his attitude, not having time for his childish behavior. I needed to find Paisley. I made a huge mistake. "Swallow your pride for two seconds, would'cha, Keys?" I huffed out before peering around him in hopes to get a better look into the room. Unfortunately, he blocked my view which only grew to irritate me that much more.

"Is Haley here?" I finally asked in a low voice. Beau shook his head before attempting to shut the door in my face, too bad for him I managed to stop it with the toe of my shoe right before he did so. "You're lying," I pried opened the door and then a much more petite figure appeared. Her eyes were swollen and red indicating she had been crying. She sniffled but only rolled her eyes when she saw me, "Go away Jason," She tried to mumble out. "You know where she is," I finally came to realize that they were keeping secrets. "Let it be." Beau's deep voice bellowed. My immediate reaction was to scoff and turn in his direction, "Do you know what it's like?" His face drowned in a lake of confusion so I only continued, "Do you know what it is like to lose everything you've ever loved? The one person you can't go a day without? All because of a stupid mistake that you have no one else to blame for but yourself? And if you don't find that person and win them back then it will haunt you for the rest of your life. I can't live with that kind of weight on my shoulders. I need her Beau."

Haley's small voice spoke up before Beau could find the words to reply, "She doesn't want you to find her Jason." I appreciated her loyalty towards Paisley usually, but not in this moment. So instead I turned to Beau who looked nothing but sympathetic. He knew how hard it must have been for me to admit all those things. And in the end, no one can really understand how much I loved this girl. I'm Jason McCann, I wasn't ever supposed to fall in love. I just did. And now it is all gone with one mistake.

Beau's voice brought me back to reality this time, "She's leaving the country Jason."
