People Know

I was prancing down the hallway, happily in my own thoughts, completely careless. At least until a voice caught me off guard and made me swoop around to come face to face with my best friend, Serena. "Hi Siri," My voice was giddy as I tried my best to contain my more than happy mood. Serena's eye brows were raised, lips pursed, and hands settled on her hips as if she had a bone to pick with me. I studied her in confusion until another voice also filled the hallway, "Serena Faye, don't you dare tell her!" It was Haley's and she was sprinting full speed towards the girl who obviously blocked Haley's view of me. "Tell who what?" I asked, stepping from around Serena so my other friend could see me. Haley halted dead in her tracks, might have even retreated a little with wide eyes at my presence. She appeared worried, like I might have been mad at her or something? "Haley?" I asked once more when I got no response the first time.

"You're pregnant?!" Serena finally made an out burst. My hand quickly flung to the girls face in order to cup her mouth and muffle her screams. "Shut the fuck up!" I hissed in her ear before dragging both the girls back into my dorm room where it was at least a little safe to discuss this topic. Once the door came to a shut, I turned on my heels and immediately shot Haley daggers, "I told you not to say anything!" The wide eyed girl's hands shot in the air in surrender, "I'm an awful secret keeper!" My eyes rolled in the back of my head before coming to rest on Haley, "You better get good at it. Just be lucky it is Serena you told, anyone else and I would have killed you on the spot." Even I couldn't tell if my voice was joking or serious. Now it was Serena who spoke up, "Why didn't you tell me?" She pouted as if i had hurt her feelings. "This can't be getting out, not already!" I cried to the girls and collapsed into the bed in defeat. If it got around to Jason all hell would break loose. "No one else knows," Serena was instantly at my side and petting my hair back to assure me. However, I only found her actions to be irritating, "That better be the case," I spat.

My happy mood shifted into a state of anger.

"Hey," Laron glanced up from his desk as I entered the room, obviously with a worried expression. He shot up from the chair and came to my side, "Are you alright?" His voice cloaked in anxiousness. I tried my best to radiate a gentle smile, but only failed miserably. "Can we talk, Laron?" I croaked. I have gotten really close to him lately, and honestly trusted the kid more than anything.

He lead my weak body to the couch, it was much smaller than Jason's but I didn't mind. "What's up?" He asked, while rubbing my back and staring at me quietly. "I'm pregnant." I stated blankly while not taking my eyes from the ground. After several moments of silence, I built the courage to gaze up at the boy who looked just as lost as I felt. "Please say something," I whispered in hopes of support. He caught on to my emotions and instantly picked himself up, "It'll be okay. Have you told Jason?" I began vibrantly shaking at the thought of Jason ever figuring out. I shook my head and glanced around to avoid eye contact, "You have you tell him." The boy said to me.
