Back With Vengeance

"He's a monster."
"He killed your father."
"He kidnapped you."
"It's impossible to love a monster."
"Failure is not an option," I continued to whisper these minor notes to myself as I drove on, anxious to be back at the warehouse. I missed my friends, not Jason, just my friends. I sighed knowing I would be betraying the only family I have, but then again I was betrayed. See, a person doesn't just wake up one day with hatred, it's not a natural thing. Someone has to make them that way, something has to happen to change the way that person views the world. Hatred flooded through every single one of my veins making them turn to ice and shivers run down my spine. My hands clenched the wheel of my fixed Range Rover as I stare ahead at the opened road, my eyes swimming in a frozen pond. I was coming back, with vengeance.

"Paisley?" A small voice spoke up from behind me just as I was opening the door to my old room. My hand immediately hit my chest as a breath hitched in my lower throat, "Kami?" I turned around to see tears forming in her eyes. She nodded weakly before running up and throwing herself around my body. My only reaction was to freeze completely before slightly patting her on the back, "Hey..." I let out awkwardly. She giggled and wiped what little make up she had on from around her running eyes, "Sorry," She murmured, "We missed you." I nodded a little before returning her expression, "I missed you too Kam."

"What in the actual fuck happened Paisley?!" Micah boomed from the other side of the desk. I jumped at his tone, fiddling with my fingers as my friends sat around the room with a confused expression, none of them reacting quite the way I did. I glanced off avoiding eye contact, I knew I was a horrible liar but right now it was life or death. "Pais," Jason's voice piped up from behind me, scaring me once again. I turned around to see him gesturing towards boss who seemed to be getting angrier by the second. I rolled my eyes and looked away from Jason to Micah, "I--um," My hand shot to the back of my neck as I rubbed it nervously, "I got captured." There were small gasps from around the room but none of the guys seemed that surprised.
I was always getting myself into trouble I suppose.

"Obviously," Micah scoffed before boring his eyes back into me, burning me with every second, "By who?" He squinted.
"Jonathan." I breathed out.
Another wave of gasps.
"Why did he?"
"To get to Jason," I smirked over to Jason who appeared dumbfounded. Everyone in the room became even more confused. I enjoyed the feeling of knowing something no one else did. "Everyone out." Micah's voice was stern and quickly everyone was nearly trampling each other to get out of the room. Once they filed out Boss didn't take but a moment to turn to me with icy eyes, "How fid you escape?" His voice hinted suspicion. I shrugged lightly, "I made a deal with the devil."

"Paisley can we talk?" Jason's voice erupted as I stepped out of Micah's office and into the hallway, "Not now." My words came out more bitter than intended. A look of question overcame him and just when I was turning to walk away, he caught me by the arm and pulled my around to come into his rock hard chest. His eyes studied me over as if he was searching for the hidden truth, "What's wrong." I grunted at his force before wiggling from his grip, "Nothing." 'Other than the fact you murdered my fathers' I spoke to myself, in my head of course.
'Act as if nothings wrong' Jonathan's voice reminded me in the back of my mind. I sighed before plastering a fake smile proudly across my face, "I'm fine baby, it's just been a long week, can I please go to bed?" He looked me over once more, not fully believing me. Then, without warning, released me causing me to stumble back and glare up to him. He knew something was up. He nodded his head towards my room door then shoved his hands into his pockets and went through the door labeled 'McCann'
"You're gonna have to do a lot better," I whispered to myself as I flung my body onto the bed.
