It's the first day of the last week of school.
You get ready and arrive late, because of the bus.
You spend the first two periods alone, but then interval arrives. You meet Grace at the bottom of the stairs and walk to your locker with her.
"Grace, can I ask you something?"
"Uh, yeah sure."
You stop beside your locker and turn to face her.
"Did you have a party on Saturday?"
She looks down at her feet.
"Who told you that?" She asks looking back up at you, biting her lip.
"I asked you a question."
She looks around, avoiding eye contact with you.
After a long pause, she finally speaks.
"Yes."
"Why didn't you tell me? Why wasn't I invited?" Before Grace could answer, the bell rang, signalling you to go to class. She darted down the hall.
You roll your eyes and stroll to class.

You don't see Grace for the rest of the day. That is, until after school.
You know she's been avoiding you all day. She tries to rush past you in the hall, but you grab her by the arm and drag her to the now empty canteen.
"Stop avoiding me." You fold you arms.
"What? Pssht I'm not avoiding you."
"Grace. What kind of brainless moron do you take me for?/Stop lying."
"Look, I'm sorry Y/N. I'm sorry I didn't invite you to the party."
"I don't care about apologies, just tell me why you didn't invite me." You sigh.
"Well. Uh.. You see..."
"Grace. Cut the bullsh*t/Just tell me"
"I didn't want you at my party because we're not that close."
Your eyes widen. What does she mean you're not that close? She one of your best friends. Are you not one of hers?
There's a long moment of silence.
"Y/N?"
"Grace... I.. I thought we were good friends. Maybe even best friends."
"Really? I don't. If we're being honest here, I never really liked you."
"Why not?"
"You're just.. A bitch."
"Oh I'm a bitch?/Well that's rude"
You look her up and down and storm off.
Since when was she so rude to you?
