I sighed as I laid on the couch (which wasn't on Leo's side).
I flipped through the pages of my magazine.
Leo walked out of his bedroom as he walked towards the exit.
"Where are you going?" I asked as I sat up.
"No where." He mumbled as he walked out. I sighed loudly as I looked outside. Dark clouds filled the sky.
The jerk didn't take an umbrella.
I bit my lip as I thought about this morning. That was so awkward. He was in the shower! I sighed as I laid on the couch and I looked at the ceiling. I slowly fell asleep.
-
I woke up and I had a blanket wrapped around me. I slowly sat up and rubbed my head. Leo sat at the kitchen table on his side.
"You broke the rule." I mumbled.
"What?" He asked.
"You crossed the line." I mumbled as I motioned towards the blanket.
"I didn't do that." He mumbled.
"Right." I said sarcastically.
I stood up with my blanket and I sat on the floor next to his side.
"What are you doing?" He asked. I patted towards the floor. He rolled his eyes as he sat on the opposite side of the room.
"What?" He asked.
"Are you still mad?" I asked.
"The truth?" He asked. I nodded.
"No. I'm not." He shrugged.
"Great. I have something to tell you." I mumbled. He looked at me weirdly.
"I'm going back to college." I mumbled.
"Naomi, you're 24 years old." He said as if I was stupid.
"I know that! I just want to be able to say I've done that. I wasn't the kind of person who anyone thought to go to college. Being in that orphanage didn't want me to go back to school. And I had no friends. This is my time to show I actually mean something to the world." I smiled. Leo stayed looking at me for a few seconds.
"Fine then. I'm joining too." He smiled.
"Huh?" I asked feeling totally dumb.
"I'll join. Why shouldn't I?" He asked.
"Because you already have a successful job perhaps?" I asked.
"Doesn't matter. Schools fun." He said as he shrugged. He stood up and walked to the kitchen.
"How can you say that?" I asked.
"I mean, people teased me a lot, but it was semi-fun." He shrugged.
"Okay... It starts next week." I mumbled as I stood up too.
"Fine." He mumbled.
"Fine." I mumbled as I laid on the couch.
Leo gave a slight smile towards me.
-
It's been a few days and this line thing is hard. I always eat on the floor and I need to ask permission to the bathroom. It's seriously getting on my nerves. I sighed as I walked into the living room.
"Leo!" I called. He didn't answer. He must be out. I sighed loudly as I walked to the kitchen. Leo can't tell me anything for being over here. He's out. I grabbed a drink and I opened the soda can. It sprayed all over me. I dropped the can as I groaned. My white shirt is ruined.
I looked down at the spilled soda and I sighed. I looked around.
Leo can't tell me anything if I perhaps...change my shirt in the living room? I grabbed a towel and I put it over the spilled soda. Then I walked into my room and I grabbed a shirt. I walked back into the living room and I took off my shirt.
"Naomi do yo-" Leo said as he opened his bedroom door.
Leo froze and I froze.
"GET OUT!" I pushed him back inside his room and I shut the door.
He wasn't supposed to be here...
I quickly put my shirt on. My face must be as red as a tomato...
Leo walked out of the bedroom door Laughing.
"You should've seen your face!" He said. I hit him on the head.
"That's not funny." I mumbled.
"What's with the spilled soda?" He asked as he pointed towards the towel.
"Oh...I went to get a drink." I mumbled.
"You what?"
-
Leo and I were trying to decide on something to do.
"How about the park?" I asked as I laid on my side of the house.
"No..." Leo mumbled.
"Then?" I asked.
He sighed.
"How about just a walk?" He asked.
"A walk? Okay..." I mumbled.
Leo and I began walking down the street. I swear, I feel like this was just yesterday.
"Oh and Naomi, by the way," Leo said as he turned towards me.
"Mhm?" I asked as I looked up at him.
"I don't like you like that anymore." He said.
"What?"
-
"You totally got friendzoned." Summer said through the phone. I was currently walking down the street to get some alone time. But, it's weird being here again.
"It's not like I chose to be in a bra in front of him." I mumbled. Summer laughed.
"You guys already seem closer though, I mean, you did walk in on him in the shower." She laughed some more. If she was here, I would hit her. I groaned.
"I know. That was weird." I mumbled.
"Do you like him?" She asked.
"Shut up." I mumbled.
"I'm serious. Do you?" She asked.
"I don't think so...I mean, I don't know." I shrugged," We always have something that blocks us from dating. It's as if the world just doesn't want it to happen." I sighed.
"Or it's the world telling you to try harder. You guys are soul mates." She said.
"I don't think so." I mumbled.
I looked across the street and I noticed a girl was staring at me.
"I've got to go..." I mumbled. And before Summer could say bye I ended the call. I walked towards the girl.
"Who...are you?" I asked.
"I'm Ariana. Nice to meet you." She said as she shook my hand.
"Hi Ariana. I'm Naomi." I smiled. If only I knew this girl would cause me so much pain in the future....
